"THE BLACK DRAGONS WILL BE UNDER MY RULE!!!"
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Nakano stares Taiju down with a fierce gaze after her bold proclamation. She has no idea what the fuck she just set herself up for, but there's no turning back now. Though, the choice wasn't entirely made on a whim. It just came to her mind, and it felt like the right thing to say.
But there are more things that need to be said. So, she glances over at the youngest Shiba sibling with an imposing, yet encouraging gaze.
"Hakkai. I know telling the truth is hard. But if I was able to confess the things I did, you can tell us what you've been hiding. Talk to us, Hakkai. Let it all out."
Hakkai looks at all the people around him, before his eyes land on his battered older sister. The tears keep on streaming on his untouched face.
"I wanted... I wanted to protect Yuzuha... But I never had the guts to stand up to Taiju..." Hakkai's head rises up to meet all of his friends who look down intently and worriedly at him. "I lied to you all... The one who protected me... My family... Was Yuzuha this whole time."
Hakkai can't bring himself to look at them, so he doubles over and allows his tears to drip onto the floor. The girl they're talking about is slowly regaining consciousness and catches on to what's happening around her.
"I... Told you what she was doing for me, and made it sound like I was the one doing it for her."
"That's... Really shitty of you," Chifuyu comments in shock, which only makes Hakkai's tears flow even more.
Yuzuha staggers to her feet. "That's enough, Hakkai!"
"Hey, young master." Koko sends him a mocking smirk. "It's bad enough a girl took hits for ya. But lying about protecting her? Now that's low."
"It's none of your business!!" Yuzuha's hoarse voice rises to a yell. "It's something I decided. None of this is Hakkai's fault!!"
"Forgive me..." Hakkai chokes out through tears. "This all happened because of me... I got you dragged into this because I lied. I was so terrified of Taiju that stabbing him was all I could do."
"To put an end to your problems." Nakano finishes that for him, her voice holding a hint of spite for herself. "Running away instead of fighting head on. It's cowardly."
"Hakkai." Takemichi turns around to face the Black Dragons, standing at his twin's side. "You suck!!"
Everyone widens their eyes, but the twins share a knowing glance. They've both had their not-so-honorable moments, so they can easily relate to that.
"But you're not the only one who sucks," Nakano adds, putting what both twins are thinking into words.
"Takemitchy... Nakano..."
"Yup. You really suck, Hakkai." Then it's Mitsuya's turn to speak and stand up. "I told you not to hate the situation you were born into. But in reality, I hated mine. Once I couldn't stand it anymore, I ran away from home and left my sisters behind. The next day, when I came back, mom slapped me real good. But then apologized for having me put up with all of it."
"Hakkai. You're not the only one who wants to run away." Mitsuya then crouches down next to Hakkai. "We're all weak. That's why we've got family."
Nakano suddenly feels a grip in her hand. Her brother's weak grip, and that calming and reassuring glint in his eyes. She lightly squeezes back.
"We won't abandon you over a lie like that!!"
Takemichi says that not only to Hakkai, but to his twin sister as well. He will admit, it took a hell of a lot of balls to admit that to everyone. But now he knows why she did all those things.
