Kakucho holds the main doors of the building open for Nakano to walk out. Parked right in front of her on the driveway is a sleek black Acura. The driver's side window rolls down, revealing a man behind the wheel. His hair is long and white now, but his eyes remain sharp, decorated with a line of red on the lids. He's dressed in a long red coat with gold trims and matching red pants. He also has three gold rings on the hand he uses to wave at Nakano.
"Long time no see, Hajime," Nakano greets, smiling warmly at him.
"Good to see you again, Nakano," Kokonoi says as he smiles back. After eyeing her for a moment, the smile drops when he looks at Kakucho. "You let her leave looking like that?"
Nakano glances down at her loose black cotton shirt and sweatpants, then shrugs. "I didn't have anything else to wear. Kinda figured that's why I'm being dragged out shopping."
"Don't worry, we'll get you a whole new wardrobe. You gonna let her in, or what?"
"You gonna unlock the door, or what?" Kakucho retorts as he tries the handle a couple times.
Kokonoi chuckles. "Oops, my bad. I usually drive the Maserati."
Nakano lets out a light raspberry at the two. "Seems like you haven't changed all that much."
"I've changed a lot, actually. I've gotten even richer," the sharp eyed man gloats.
Kakucho rolls his eyes, and the doors finally unlock with a click. He opens the door to let Nakano slide in and sit on the black leather seats. The car smells new, as if Hajime bought it right before driving over. That or they never used it, granted they have a Maserati and probably a few other cars to rotate between. Kakucho sits in the back seat next to Nakano, and once they're both buckled in, Kokonoi puts the car into drive, and they're on their way.
"Kakucho gave you the whole run down, right?" Hajime asks as he glances at her from the rearview mirror.
"Rundown of what?" Nakano asks.
Hajime starts speeding up and weaving through the lanes. "What were you two even doing up there?"
"I told her that I'm her main bodyguard now," Kakucho says. "Koko is also assigned as one of your main guards."
'Two bodyguards? I don't even need one. Who does Manjiro think I am?' Nakano rolls her eyes behind closed lids, smirking to herself. 'At the very least, I'm glad it's these two and not the other creeps I saw yesterday. Hopefully I can still trust these two. So far, they're the only ones I really can besides Manjiro.'
"While Boss isn't around, we're here to keep you company. That's what he said at least," Hajime adds, a smirk pulling at the corner of his mouth before he jokes, "Better us than the other hollow-skulled, gun-happy hooligans that call themselves Bonten executives."
"He probably assigned you two because I know you both better than the others," Nakano suggests as she leans back in her seat. "By the way, where is Manjiro? Do you have any idea when he's coming back?"
Kakucho shrugs as he replies, "Who knows? He's been all over the place in pursuit of growing Bonten."
"All we know is that he had a bunch of 'errands' to run and drove off with Sanzu, but he'll be back eventually," Hajime continues. "In the meantime, he told us to take you shopping and let you get whatever you need and want. Designer clothes, shoes, jewelry, the latest phone model, a car—all of the above and more."
"Just the clothes are fine," Nakano says. "I don't need anything high end. Just functional."
"Bullshit!" Hajime exclaims as he swerves and smacks the horn. "Fucking dumbass. Sorry, not you, Nakano. Don't worry about the price tags though, I'll handle all of that." She catches a smile from him from the sideview mirror this time. "The Queen deserves nothing but the best."
