Keep Fighting

The auburn eyed Hanagaki walks down the steps of the church, chains dragging behind her. Her bare feet crunch in the snow, but she can't feel the cold or the weight of the metal. Just pure relief that this is over.

"Kano-chin!!" Mikey then runs up to her, and immediately scoops her up into his arms. "You're not wearing shoes again!! Your feet are gonna freeze off!!"

"Woah! Stop it, Manjiro!" She tries to wiggle out of his grasp, but he doesn't release her. "Let me go!!"

However, when he nuzzles his head into the crook of her neck, she stops fighting back, paralyzed by this feeling. "I'm never letting you go again."

Despite the winter chill around them, all Nakano can feel is the warmth he brings her. Her heart races, pumping blood to her cheeks, giving them a red tint.

"I'm not gonna go anywhere, Manjiro." She pats his head, tangling her fingers in his feathery blonde hair. "Well, actually I do need to get these chains off."

"Why don't you come to our place?"

Nakano glances up upon hearing Hakkai's offer, to see the whole group staring at them. She immediately pulls her hand back and locks her own fingers together. 

"We'll take care of your wounds as a show of our thanks," Yuzuha continues, a smile gracing her bruised face.

The black haired twin flashes her own smile. "It's fine-"

"It wasn't a question," The female Shiba folds her arms and points to Hakkai's bike. "You're coming with us."

"Uh- Okay then. Thanks."

"Mikey. Don't forget, Emma told us to meet her at Hina's place." Draken then glances down at Takemichi who's next to him. "Someone wants to talk to you."

The male twin takes an audible gulp, which Nakano ignores. She pats Mikey's head one last time, as if physically asking him to let her go. Which he doesn't.

"Manjiro, Yuzuha and Hakkai have been kind enough to give me this offer, so would you please let me go?"

With a slight pout and quiet sigh, Mikey takes her to the Shiba siblings, who are standing with Mitsuya. He doesn't want to leave her again, but he also has somewhere to be.

The second division captain points at his own bike that's parked next to Hakkai's. "She can ride with me."

Mikey glances down at Nakano, who he's still holding as if asking if she's okay with it. There's nothing wrong with that in Nakano's eyes, so she nods. The boy holding her then walks over to Mitsuya's motorcycle, and gently sets her on the passenger seat.

After doing so, he turns to his second division captain with a face filled with seriousness. "Make sure she doesn't fall off."

Catching on to Mikey's protectiveness, Mitsuya gives him a slight smile and nod. "I'll take care of her, don't worry."

'But I want to take care of her...' Mikey tries to hold back his disappointment and jealousy.

"I'm not a pet!" the auburn eyed girl grumbles from the bike.

Mikey's sour emotions melt away as soon as he hears her voice. He pets her head with a teasing smile, irritating her further.

"I'll see you later then?"

Sighing to let out her unneeded irritation, Nakano nods. "Yeah. See ya."

With that, the two groups go in different directions. Nakano, Yuzuha, Hakkai and Mitsuya are on their way to the Shiba residence, while Takemichi, Mikey, Draken and Chifuyu are going the opposite way.
