I'm late.

Oh my god. I'm late.

After peacefully snoozing my alarms to go back to my wonderful dream, I open my eyes only to realize it's 7:10 and I have 20 minutes to get to school.

So, I throw on my nearest clothes (leggings and a quarter zip), throw my hair in a messy bun, grab my makeup bag, order some Dunkin, grabbing my backpack and tennis bag, before putting on my white high top Converse and slipping out the door.

The New York fall air wraps around my body causing me to shiver, and I quickly get into my car and start it up only for it to make the worst sound I've ever heard in my entire life. It's the most petrifying, ear screeching noise, but I start it up again only to hear an even worst sound and my car doesn't even turn on.

I slam my head against my steering wheel.

This cannot be happening right now.

Oh god. No. Please don't make me ask Jace Lockheart for a ride to school. Kill me at this point.

Jace looks up from his notes, pushing his glasses up, and makes eye contact with me.

I quickly look away, trying to hide myself.

God. This day literally couldn't get worse to the point Jace caught me staring at him.

He nods towards me, confusion on his face. "Is everything ok? Normally you're long gone by now."

I scratch the back of my neck, contemplating whether I should turn around and go back in my house and get into my warm blankets or put my pride aside and ask Jace for a ride to school.

"Julie?" He raises his eyebrows at me. "You good?"

"Yeah. It's just-" I let out a sigh. "- I woke up late today from a great dream, may I add, and I went to start up my car and my car isn't working right now. I don't know what's wrong with it. It's just making this horrible sound, and my parents aren't home right now so I don't know how to fix it. Plus, we have this really big test today, and I have a game today so I can't miss school and-"
