Jordyn's Pov
When Kamryn said she wasn't interested in me, I wasn't surprised. Maybe a little hurt, but all I want is a chance. Maybe more, but that's her call. I haven't messed with anyone, or even flirted with anyone ever since she got my attention.
I can't really clarify why or how she caught my eye, but she just did. Our teachers didn't make it any better because all they did was pair us up together.
Every time we were paired up together, she just seemed comfortable–or normal. I guess since she's not interested in me of course.
I was the first person to meet her since I had to show her around the school. I have Robyn to blame since she made my infatuation turn into a full-blown crush.
She did this by directing Kamryn to basically wherever I was—knowing I had a crush on her. To make matters worse, she always talked about Kam and I looking 'good' together, or even being a great couple.
Honestly, I just want one date, then again I'm not going to push her about it. I'm not even like that, plus I don't want to make her feel apprehensive or anything. It wouldn't even help me if I pressed her about it.
I was only searching for her because Anaya handed me Kamryn's books and told me to give them to her. I realized she was attempting to set us up, so I just went along with it–without asking any questions.
"What do you want Jordyn? Your timing is atrocious."
She pointed out while rolling her eyes and opening her locker.
"Well, I'm sorry. I guess you won't need your math book—red or blue notebook, and this–uh, little diary book."
I addressed her while looking through her supplies and walking away.
Before I knew it, she grabbed my upper arm and pulled me back towards her. She looked at me and snatched her books from my grasp. Specifically her little diary thing.
"Thank you, Jay, but you better not have been the one who stole them."
She eyed me up and down before closing her locker.
"No problem, but I didn't steal them."
Even though she was a little rude when she snatched the books–she said thank you; and called me a nickname. I'm actually surprised she said thank you since she doesn't use her manners on me.
"Whatever, Jay."
She said while walking away.
Like I said, absolutely no manners on me.
Maybe I should stop being a scaredy-cat and actually listen to someone's advice. This may or may not be a good idea, but if it isn't, then too bad. Nevertheless, I will blame, Kris and Summer. Robyn too since she pushes the both of us.
Always forcing me above my limits.
"Hold on, Kam. One more thing!"
I called out before catching up to her and stepping in front of her. Luckily I brought no perception towards us. Hopefully, this goes well.
"Jay, I need to go to class. Either talk quick or leave me alone."
She affirmed with an insanely amount of attitude. Her normal, blunt behavior; towards me.
"Um, can I take you out sometime?"
I asked her; I didn't dare smile though because that depended entirely on her response.
"Hmm, let me think–"
She started with a fake ponder expression.
"–mm no."
She finished and then looked up, making direct eye contact with me.
I was expecting that answer, so I wasn't sad or anything. I was hurt deep down, and slightly embarrassed, but that wasn't the point. I wasn't going to press it, or think about it until I got home.
So, I took this predicament like the mature, youngster I am, and looked down at her. Straight in the eye and responded:
"Okay."
I nodded in acceptance and then walked away.
I wasn't going to let her answer get to me– yet. Plus I had the rest of the day to worry about and wasn't going to dwell on it. I'm just going to endorse it, and deal with it.
I won't even bother advising Anaya, Kris, Summer, or Robyn since they all wanted me to ask. Which is surely why they all walked away from us. They presumably wouldn't even like the result, so it's not even relevant.
I made my way to my next few classes and just went along with the school day.
Let's make this a good day.
