Jordyn's Pov
Testing is finally over and spring break is coming up. It's kind of dumb that spring break is after, instead of before testing. It's fine with me either way, since there's a break.
Matter of fact, forget what I just said because imagine going on a relaxing break, and then having a week of testing the moment you come back. Imagine that.
"So Jay..."
Chandler trails while walking with me to lunch.
"What's up wit Liyah."
He continues before sitting beside me.
He's been bothering me about Aaliyah for the longest. After the whole 'I like you' event, he's been checking up on her.
From what I know, Aaliyah likes Ari or whatever. I don't know how that's going, but they both stopped talking to me.
"I'm pretty sure if she didn't give you her number, she don't want you."
I told him after saying 'hi' to out fellow group members.
"Is he still stuck on Aailyah?"
Victoria asked me while looking between Chandler and I.
"Yep."
I replied blankly.
Kamryn was taking her good 'ole time because she's nowhere to be found. Neither is Vivienne, but that's nothing new.
"Vivienne is still on the phone with Hennessey?"
Kris asked to Roman, who had classes with her.
"Yeah. Plus she got her phone taken away from Mr. Claude, in second period. So, that's probably what's taking her so long."
Roman explained while eating his sandwich.
After a few minutes Vivienne and Kamryn finally made it inside the cafeteria, and to our table. They took mad long for absolutely no reason.
"Y'all might as well just go, because lunch almost over now."
Robyn muttered whole throwing away her trash.
She's been irritated for the longest, ever since Jade went M.I.A. She just disappeared. Like actually gone.
Her house is for sale, she doesn't pick up any texts or phone calls, she left school; without a single word, and without a trace. Not to mention, her phone number doesn't even work.
"Imma go-y'all know my number."
I dismissed myself before leaving the cafeteria. I had the rest of the day to deal with, but also the fact that my mother was coming later today.
Everyone already knew, so they all understood my obvious attitude. The only person who didn't know, was Kamryn. Which is why she didn't say a word to me when she sat at our table.
She asked me about it, but I just told her I'll visit her later on.
I had an attitude when I told her that, so now I'm being indecisive on whether or not I should still go.
After the rest of my classes, including being left alone in the locker room, I ran into Roman, in the school parking lot. He wasn't with Robyn or Kris, which was surprising, but I didn't question it.
"Is it okay if I ride with you?"
He asked me hesitantly. I nodded at his question, and got into the driver's seat before leaving the parking lot.
The ride was pretty silent until he said to take him home to Robyn. He told me that everyone would be there, and that there was some news that had to be told.
When we got there, we entered the house, which was uncomfortably silent. Roman led me to the kitchen, where everyone was sitting. I sat in between Robyn and Victoria, and looked around at everyone.
They all seemed silently distressed, but the reason as to why, was unknown.
"Jade is gone."
Robyn muttered extremely lowly, yet everyone heard.
I looked at her, and saw that her eyes were beyond red, and so was her face. It was obvious that she had been crying, so I looked at Kris. I knew this couldn't be a joke, especially when I saw Kris's face.
It was just as red as Robyn's.
"What?"
I stated while looking around once again.
"Her parents let us know when school ended."
Robyn authorized before crying on Roman's shoulder.
I didn't know what to say, how to feel, or what to do; everyone was already crying, while I was simply shocked. I couldn't register what I was told or anything regarding the situation.
"Jade's dead."
