Y/n's pov

Mike had wanted Dustin and Lucas to meet at our house before school to discuss our plan furthermore.

El sat on the couch, fiddling with the supercom while the boys and I had gathered around the D&D table.

"We'll just tell our parents we have AV Club after
school. That'll give us at least a few hours for
Operation Mirkwood." Mike stated.

I nodded my head in agreement.

"You seriously think that the weir- uh, El knows
where Will is?" Lucas darted his eyes at me as he
caught himself.

I sent him a smile.

"Just trust me on this, okay?" Mike pleaded.

"He's right. Will would do the same for anyone of
us."

I looked to Lucas, Mike, then Dustin. I could tell they
agreed with me.

"Okay."

"Did you get the supplies?" Mike asked the two of them.

"Yeah. Binoculars... from 'Nam. Army knife...... also
from 'Nam. Hammer, camouflage bandana, and the
wrist rocket." He pulled out the yellow wrist rocket
excitedly, and I chuckled to myself, impressed.

"You're gonna take out the Demogorgon with a
slingshot?" Dustin asked, unimpressed.

I scoffed and looked at him, knowing well
enough it was better than what he brought.

"Well, what were you planning on doing, throwing
a Nutty Bar at it?" I asked with a hint of humor in my tone.

Lucas however, took offence to Dustin's words.

"First of all, it's a wrist rocket. And second of all,
the Demogorgon's not real. It's made up. But if there is something out there, I'm gonna shoot it in the eye..." he pulled back the empty sling and let it loose, nearly hitting Dustin in the face.
"-and blind it."

I heard my brother sigh.

"Y/n?" He looked to me hopefully.

"Well, with all things considered, I figured at one
point or another we would end up needing this." I
pulled the makeshift first aid kit from my backpack.

A handful of ace bandage wraps, gauze, ointment. Some band-aids, and even a small pair of tweezers were inside.

I smiled proudly and looked to Mike who nodded his
head in approval. "Good idea. We don't know for
sure what we are up against."

"Dustin, what did you get?"

Dustin perked up and emptied the contents of his
bag out onto the table.

"Well, alrighty."

"So, we've got..
Dustin began naming off all the snacks he brought
as Mike and Lucas stared at him with a confused
glance.
"-Nutty Bars, Bazooka, Pez, Smarties, Pringles,
Nilla Wafers, apple, banana and trail mix." He
finished off with a proud smile.

"Seriously?"

"We need energy for our travels. For stamina. And
besides, why do we even need weapons anyway?
We have her."

"She shut one door!"

"With her mind! Are you kidding me? That's insane! Imagine all the other cool stuff she could do. Like..." His face lit up and he ran over to
the plastic Millennium Falcon and picked it up.

"I bet... that she could make this fly! Hey. Hey. Okay, concentrate. Okay?"

I stood there, crossing my arms, an amused look on
my face.

She stared blankly at him as he let the toy fall to the ground with an obnoxious clatter.

"Okay, one more time." She looked back at him, the
faint look of mock confusion crosses her face and I tried to hide my growing smirk.

"Okay."

I notice from the corner of my eye as Lucas dropped
his head in what looked to be a mix of disappointment and embarrassment.

"Use your powers, okay?" He dropped it again and I
could see the amusement in her eyes, which only
made me giggle more.

"She's not a dog!" Mike yelled.

He stomped over and ripped the toy out of his
hands, while I made eye contact with El and we
shared a smile.

"Kids! It's time for school!" Our mother's voice
carried through to the basement.

We all hastily packed up our things and Lucas and
Dustin ran up the stairs.

Meanwhile, Mike and I stayed behind to say goodbye to El.

"We are gonna need you to stay here, okay?" I asked.

She nodded her head.

"But you can't make any noise and you can't leave."
Michael pleaded.

She seemed uneasy about this but
nodded in agreement.

"Michael! Y/n!" Came our moms voice.

I was about to say something when Mike turned
around suddenly and shouted "COMING!"

I jumped back slightly, a laugh escaping.

"You know those power lines?" he returns to El, in
a completely calm voice, as if nothing happened.

"See you after school, El." I chuckled. "You better hurry your ass up Michael." And with that, I ran up the stairs to meet Lucas and Dustin.
