"Avvvinnnaaa~!" A familiar white-haired Daemos with green horns suddenly appeared in front of the Princess's face, inches away from hers. Y/N was sitting on her open windowsill looking at the dark abyss of Daemos. There was a large tree outside the window and the snarky man was hanging upside down from a tree branch to get her attention.
"Hey Leif," Y/N laughed.
"Come on, let's go before your brother catches me," Leif smirked.
"It took you long enough," Y/N stood up while Leif lifted himself back upon the sturdy branch. He reached his hand out to her and she grabbed onto it.
The two Daemos, now having snuck out of the castle grounds, ran away together through the forest.
"It would be nice to know where the hell we're going," Y/N sighed as Leif continued to drag her around the forest non-stop.
"You'll find out soon, just stop complaining," Leif looked back, his emerald eyes glowing toward Y/N in the darkness.
After several minutes, the couple met with a waterfall descending to a lake. Tall, sturdy, dark wood trees with branches covered in dark blue leaves and vines tower above them along the shore. The harsh but calming crash of the waterfall meeting the ground created a dense atmosphere as the mist surrounded the lake. Soft glowing ivy wrapped on top of the boulders and tree branches made the entire forest look like something out of a dream. Mythical creatures of the forest minded their business as they went about their dark day. There was a faint shimmer of light reflecting on the lake due to the glowing vines.
"Holy shit- Leif how did you find this place?!" Y/N stared at the scene in front of her with disbelief.
"Hah, knew you'd like it!" Leif smiled, giving himself a pat on the back, ignoring the question. "Follow me."
Once again the two are on the move, they stay in the same lake but walk closer to the waterfall, hand in hand. Y/N used her water powers to make a smooth, thin surface of ice on top so she and Leif could stand on top. The water underneath the makeshift ice acted as an overflowing cup of water when Y/N lifted themselves up the waterfall.
"Okay, you outdid yourself this time Leif. This is beautiful!" Y/N laughed.
"It would be like this every day if we ran away from here you know," Leif smiled at her.
"You know how my brother is, the moment I disappear he's hunting down you," Y/N used her pointer finger to poke Leif's chest as she said this.
"Yeah, well we could go to another dimension as well. No one could ever know how we disappeared," Leif smirked at her again, his sharp teeth visible.
"Yeah right."
"Promise me," Leif stepped toward Y/N, grabbed her hands, and slightly bent down so their foreheads met.
"Promise what?"
"Promise that we can be together. We'll find a way to get away with it."
"Like you with your assassinations?" Y/N scoffed.
"Come on."
"Hmm... fine then," Y/N smirked at him, and Leif squeezed her hands before embracing her in a hug.
