Don't Go Away (Leif x Reader)

~Chapter 33~

     Back on Daemos, a certain female is in the enchanted library of the Royal Family's Castle. Long blonde hair with long black horns has a covered face from a book she is inspecting in her hands. She's flipping through the pages, muttering to herself. The woman sits on the floor, a few stacks of books next to her, along with a black cat with a large scar across his eye. He stares at the woman, grumbling through the pages of the book.

     The library walls are dark, with only a faint yellow glow coming from the lanterns on the side of the hallway. Tall bookcases reach the ceiling, with hundreds of books on each shelf. The carpet running between the shelves is red and yellow patterned, the female Daemos sitting on it.

     "No... no, no, no no no no!!" The woman stands up, angrily closing the book in her hands.

     She quickly throws it in front of her, hitting a book on the shelf and falling to the floor. The book she hit on the shelf pops out, not fully wanting to let go.

     The cat meows mysteriously to the woman, wagging his long black tail.

     "Don't tell me to keep my composure! I've been in the damn aze for days! The last thing I care about is keeping my composure," Lady Bish shouts to the cat sitting on the floor. She runs her fingers through her hair, trying to calm herself down.

     The cat meows again.

     "Of course, you can keep your composure! You haven't been reading this whole time! You've just been licking yourself when it's convenient for you, meanwhile, I have to panic over what I have to do to keep my throne!" Lady Bish's voice echoes through the library walls.

     The cat meows twice, and Lady Bish falls back to the floor and takes a deep breath.

     "I've worked my way into the position I'm in, and I'm about to lose it because of some soul-searching brats. I thought Y/N would've acted better," Bish rolls her eyes.

     The black cat meows.

     "Truth be told, if I were in Prince Asch and Princess Y/N's position, I don't know what I would do," Lady Bish admits. "Knowing me, I'd probably turn and run as well. Go somewhere where I could never go back. But who knows, perhaps Asch and Y/N will come back. Perhaps born royalty will have some sense of honor."

     "Mow," The cat calls.

     "Well of course they do. But something is telling me that given the right circumstances, Asch and Y/N may abandon their duties," Bish admits. "Despite our similar age, I don't know them well enough to say."

     "Meow"

     "Who am I kidding, I knew this was too good to be true. Despite all my efforts to get this close to being Queen, despite everyone I've deceived and manipulated, the gods still had to curse me," Lady Bish stands up, sighing.

     The book on the shelf moves an inch, wanting to escape the shelf.

     "Let's get back to the Castle."

     The cat stands up, following Lady Bish, who turns around to begin walking. The book on the shelf finally leaves the grasp, falling to the stack of books on the floor.

     "Huh?" Lady Bish turns around, her hand in the air and her other hand on her chest.

     She sees nothing in the hallway and looks around. The cat meows, telling her no one is there.

     "Book must've just fallen out," Lady Bish says, returning her hands to her side.

     The cat meows, agreeing.
