Clara's First word

I think we should celebrate. Sam suggested. Celebrate? What are we Celebrating. I asked. Well, the fact that Emily's plan to ruin your career was futile. Sam said. I agree. Lucy said. I'm sorry, i won't be part of it. I said. Why? Sam asked. I want to pay little pumpkin a surprise visit today. You know with all that's being going on, I haven't been able to visit her and I miss her. I said. You seem to be attached to your boss daughter. Sam Said For a person like you who despise Children. Sam said. I don't despise Children. I said defensively. So what is the feeling? Sam asked. I don't just like being with them. I said. Still the same thing. Sam said. Whatever. I said. I'm also Surprise that I like her. I added. Really? It's nice that she likes you so that when you eventually become her Father's wife and her Mother, she'll not find it difficult to  adapt. Sam Said. Who says I will? I asked. Time will tell. Sam said. Whatever. I have to go now. I said picking up my Car keys. Are you going out dressed like this? Sam asked. Of course. I replied. Jeez... Put on something nice please.Sam said. Why? I'm just going to see a child. Why should I dress up? I asked. What if your Boss happens to be there? Sam asked. Well, he won't be because he is a busy person and if he is there then it's okay. I said. What do you mean by it's okay? Sam asked. Sam, I'm only going to visit little pumpkin and and her father. I said. Whatever... Don't say I didn't tell you. Sam said. When are you going to return this Car? Our rental time is almost due. Lucy said. I'm planning to buy one next weekend so I'll return it then. I said. Okk... Bye. Lucy said. Bye Girls. I said before I left the house. I turned up the Music as I entered the Car. Visiting hours by Ed sheeran was playing. I am not really a fan of Edsheeran. His songs are nice but I prefer Jason Durello and Drake to him. Few minutes later, I parked at the front of the Miller's Mansion. Good morning, Mr Diego, i greeted the Man at the gate. Good morning, Miss Olsen. Come in, he said opening the gate for me. Thank you. I said and walked inside. Welcome, Miss Olsen. The Butler greeted me when I got inside. Where is Little pumpkin? I asked. She's inside. She's been moody because it's been long you visited her. The Butler said. Is she throwing tantrums? I asked. No, she's just in her room all day drawing. The butler answered. What about Her Meals? I asked. She eats very little. The Butler said. Thank you. I said and walked to her room. I knocked softly on the door but there was no response. Little pumpkin, please open the door, it's Aunt Lisa. I said and i heard sounds of footstep heading toward the door. And just then the door was opened. She was Standing at the door smiling. I know you are angry with me and nothing I say could change that but can you please forgive Aunt Lisa, there's has been a lot on my plate so I have not been able to visit you. I'm Sorry. I said holding my two ears. She didn't move and i bent down to hug her. Aunt Lisa. She spoke. I pulled away from her. Little pumpkin, Did you just call my name? You just said Aunt Lisa right? I asked in excitement and she nodded. Call my name again. Will you? I asked. She hesistated before calling my name again. I can't believe you just spoke. I said and carried her in and just when I placed her on the bed, Nathan came in. Boss, little pumpkin called my name. I said immediately. She did? He asked obviously surprised. Yes, she did. I was shocked and couldn't believe it so I asked her to call me again and she did. I said. Did you Say Aunt Lisa's name? Nathan asked but she didn't say anything. Little pumpkin, why don't you say my name again. I asked her but she didn't say anything this time. I'll call her therapist. He said and left to dial her number. Fifteen minutes later, the therapist arrived. You said she Called your name? The therapist asked. Yes, she did. I answered. It took so long for her to recover but she recovered faster than i thought. I think it's because she has a change of environment. Has she travelled somewhere? The therapist asked. She hasn't. Nathan answered. Has she met someone new? The therapist asked further. She is the only new person she has met and liked. He said referring to me. I think she recovered because of you but i don't how. Are you her Mother? She asked. No, I'm not. I answered. OK, but you should stay with her. I'm sure in no time, she'll talk more. The therapist said. Thank you Doctor. Nathan said and Accompanied her out of the room. I'm so proud of you, little pumpkin. I said and kissed her forehead. I gently laid her on the bed and stayed with her till she slept. I walked out of the room and i found Nathan sitting in the living room. Hi Boss, i greeted him. Hi, he replied. Thank you. He said. Why? I asked. Clara said her first word, thanks to you.  He said. I didn't do anything. I said. You know I told you apart from my parents, my brother and I, she's never liked anyone else until you showed up in her life. I don't know why she is attached to you but my Daughter has never liked anyone before you. He said. I was quiet because i didn't know what to say. You know she was never like this, there was a time she could talk but when she was still a baby, I hired a Nanny for her. She was just A day old when my mom gave her to me and said ahe was my child. It was Crazy. How would you give me a child and say it's mine. I asked her how and she said one of the girls I slept with got pregnant and her mother gave her the baby because she couldn't raise her. It was more Surprising because even  though i was a player then, I always used Condom. I was so furious and i carried out DNA in different hospitals but in all, she turned out to be mine. At first, I took care of her but as time goes on and i became busy, I couldn't anymore so i hired a nanny and that was the biggest mistake of my life. I was so busy to notice my little child was suffering until i came back one day and saw my child Lying in a bathtub full of water. She was lifeless and then i noticed there were marks on my little girl's body, my little girl was physically abused by her nanny. He said sadly. I'm so sorry. I said. You don't have to be. I was so foolish. Ahe was unconscious for two months and when she finally regained Conciousness, she refused to talk. I couldn't blame her, she had gone through those things at her small age. He said. People could be so heartless. What could the liitle girl have done to her. I said sadly. I felt weak, pained. It was as if little pumpkin was my daughter, I felt angry for not being there at time. I felt Sad that i couldn't protect her. But it's fine now, at least you made her want to talk again. Thank you. Nathan Said. She's asleep now, I think I should head home. I said. Do you want me to drop you off? He asked. No, I brought my Car. I said and left hurriedly. I wanted to leave there so quickly. I entered my Car and drove off immediately. I had lots on my mind but i couldn't voice them. I got to my house in no time and rushed in. Hi. Sam greeted but I ignored her and went straight to bed. Sam came inside right after. Are you okay? She asked. Yes. I answered. But you don't look like it. Sam said. Why do you think someone would want to hurt little pumpkin? I asked. Did Someone try to hurt her? She asked. That little girl, it was bad enough her mother rejected her, why did she also have to suffer physical abuse? I asked. Physical abuse? Did Nathan Flog her? Sam asked. No, he didn't. Her Nanny did. I said. She has a Nanny? Sam asked. She had. I answered. Explain to me what happened. I don't understand. Sam said confused. I calmed down and told her what happened and what Nathan told me. Holly Molly... Sam screamed. People are heartless. What did they do to the evil nanny? She asked. I didn't asked. She deserved life imprisonment. Sam said. True. I agreed. I cant believe that little girl went through all that. Sam said. Me too. I said. You should really be there for her since she likes you. Sam said. Of course, I'll be with her till the end. She needs someone whom she could trust and if she has that, she'll be able to become her self once more. I said. Maybe that's why you were drawn to her. Sam said. Yeah,maybe. Thank you Sam, I'll feel better after talking to you. You know I'll always be here anytime you need me. She said. What about the rape victim? Have you met her? I asked. Yeah, i have and i have assured her I'll help her even though I wasn't easy to convince her. Sam said. At least you did. I'm proud of you. I said. I know. Sam said. I love you and I'll always support an of your decision unless you decide to be gay. I said. Never happening. Sam said. I laughed. I know. I said. Good night, sleep tight. She said. Good night. I told her as she left my room.
