   The moment we heard the result was out, we dashed out the door. We were afraid but also anxious. How ironical that I've waited longingly for this day, but now it's here I wish it away.

   The hall was filled to the brim it was hard to tell who was who. Some girls gave low yelps of delight, others staring unbelieving.

     A girl stuttered away from the notice board, trying to fight the tears threatening to fall. I know her.. I sat beside her in biology class I think the name was Mandy or something like that.

"Hi."I kneel next to her.

"Hi."she sniffed a tear rolling.

"I don't know how this is possible. I don't know. I read hard. I really tried everything I could. I'm not a failure. Am i?"She asked hopefully.

      I wanted to smile, to assure her that she wasn't, to find the right words but I didn't say a thing. I just stared at her. Vera was thoughtful enough to give her an handkerchief from her purse.

    The crowd was reducing. I edged closet to the front, counting my heart beats. Gbam Gbam! One. Two. I search for my class, only 40 out of 100 students passed.  Starting from number one I search for my name desperately.I could not find it. I glanced at my friends who were also searching, they seemed to be staring back as if saying, "this is it."

"I made it!"Vera screamed so loudly everyone paused to stare at her.

"I'm just so happy"She said crying.

"I..made it"Xen said but it seemed she was trying to convince herself.

"Yaaaaaay!"Judy said hugging Vera.

"We're going to break some hearts"she said with a wink.

"No one's breaking anyone's heart"Darla said smacking her.

"And I'm going to be there to make sure you don't"She winked and three of them squealed.

"Guess you'd need a cook. Too good I'm coming with you"Mira said and they screamed.

"We. .we all made it?"Vera asked and she glanced at me and Tori.

"it's... it's not possible? How the hell did Ruby get to number four? We all know she has stones for brains"Xen screamed in anger.

"Calm down"Vera Said.

"I won't"Xen said still fuming.

Ruby was at the other end of the hall, chatting with her shadow. At the mention of her name, she spun around, blew me a kiss and smiled.

"Who marked the scripts. How did she pass?"Xen demanded.

"People can be so childish"Ruby snickered.

"Who did you call childish?"Xen asked walking closer.

"Xen you don't want to fight now.. just ignore her"Judy pleaded.

"No this girl has been trying me. She's insulted my friends and she ruined Audrey's test."Xen smiled.

"Does it take much to be civilized?"Ruby wrinkled her nose.

"I'll show you how civilized I can be"Xen smiled.

  Maybe because we thought that she was all talk and no action. Maybe we didn't really think she would end up having a reaction so no one held Xen back and she did the unthinkable.

    She walked up to Ruby and raised her hand in the air and we heard a very resounding slap.

    Ruby held her cheeks, her eyes saying a thousand words. Xen glaring ready to do more damage.

  "Oya talk"Judy hissed.

    "You'd pay for this"Ruby said and stormed out, her shadow followed.

    "She did deserve that"Tori sniffed.

    "I... can't believe you aren't coming"Vera cried.

    "Wait ah minute!"Darla said glaring at the list.

    "whose name do I see at the last number?"she asked.

    That's........my name!

    I was so preoccupied with checking the top spots I didn't bother to look down.

    "You made it!"Judy said hugging me.

    I sniffed.

   "I made it"I choked.

    "You're crying?"Mira asked.

    "I'm.. just so happy"I said.

    "But Tori didn't"Xen said and I turned to her.

    "I'm so sorry Tori"I said.

    "It's okay.. it's not your fault. If I had faced my studies instead of obsessing over a bastard that cheated on me, everything would have been better. But nothing spoil. I'm going to be at  the other side cheering you guys on because I love you and because you are my best friends"she said.

    We all hugged each other, crying together.

    We were happy that we passed our exams, but we didn't know what to expect.

    What If everything was going to change and for the worst?

   Either ways I was not afraid because I had my best friends with me and we would face the world...... together!
