I'd been staring at the same green painting in the corner for the past hour, my body felt numb and everything around me was so quiet. Early this morning I was hunched over my toilet throwing up everything I ate the night before.
I forced myself to get up, today I went with a simple look that didn't take much effort. I threw on a yellow sundress and pulled my hair back with a black claw, I didn't do any makeup instead just added a dewey serum and a red lip oil. I've been feeling so nauseous lately, I think it has a lot to do with my stress levels.
Today we're taste testing some different cakes, according to Audrey cakes are really important at weddings. I walked downstairs with my hands flattening my dress, my stomach was bloated which could only mean one thing, my period is right around the corner.
The dining table was filled with multiple cakes in all different shades, and around all those cakes were Kaz dressed in my heartbreak and looking dashing as ever. Bodhi sat across from him along with his mother, my body froze when my eyes met Kaz's.
"Look who's finally awake." Audrey says with her hands clapping together, my eyes snapped me back to reality.
"Sorry, I wasn't feeling so good this morning." I replied, quickly.
I walked closer to the table and leaned over to kiss my fiancé's cheek, his fingers locked around mine as I sat beside him. Everyone continued to talk amongst each other while Larisa wobbled inside with her hand over her growing stomach, my eyes fluttered down to my plate.
This hurt beyond every beating I've ever received, this pain was greater than any physical pain.
My brother's eyes softened when he glanced over at me, his fingers rubbed his forehead almost frustrated with something. He warned me and I didn't listen, this was my fault and maybe I deserved it.
"Have you guys figured out any names?" Audrey asked, it made me instantly lose my appetite.
"For a girl Agatha and a boy Eugene." Larisa replied with an awkward smile.
Bodhi choked on a piece of his lettuce from trying to laugh, he covered it up by shoving water down his throat. His mother covered her mouth with her cloth napkin almost laughing as well, my dad coughed with a serious face.
"Those are unique names." Audrey says.
I finally looked up at everyone, and Larisa's smile turned into a frown. A hand touched her forearm very softly, Kaz's hand to be exact and my eyes couldn't help but focus on his fingers wrapped around her skin.
"I love them." He said, carefully while keeping eye contact with her. "Whatever makes you happy."
Ouch.
