- It's just a sprain. It should heal fairly quickly. - Carlisle assures while finishing to bandage Mackenzie's hand up.
Edward stays behind Mack, taking her waist and leaving small kisses on her head to relief the pain. Emmett and Jasper arrive, looking confusedly at the brown haired girl given that Carlisle keeps bandaging her hand up.
-Tying to walk and chew gup at the same time again, girlie? - Emmett mocks.
-I'm not you, strong boy. - Edward laughs at Emmett by his partner's comment who rolls his eyes. - I punched a werewolf in the face.
-Badass, girl. You're gonna be one tough little newborn. - Emmett smiles. Mack lightly shakes her head, smiling.
-Tough enough to take you on, strong boy. - The brown haired girl affirms, making everyone but Rosalie laugh who finds herself reading the newspaper.
Rose stands up angrily from the couch and leaves the newspaper on the coffee table before exiting the living room and into the balcony.
-Don't worry about it. She'll be fine. - Emmett assures. Mackenzie grimaces insecurely but nods anyway.
-Got any leads? - Edward asks Jasper.
-No sign of the intruder. But Victoria continues to make appearances. - Mack stands up from where she was sitting and looks at her partner.
-I won't take long. - The girl whispers before leaving a small kiss on Edward's lips.
The vampire nods slowly before leaning down and kiss Mackenzie's lips. She pulls away with an embarrassed smile by remembering that Edward's brothers and father are near them.
-Thanks, Doctor Cullen. - She thanks the man who lightly shakes his head with a smile on his face.
-It's Carlisle. How many times do I have to repeat it, Mack? - He jokes.
-Sorry. Thanks, Carlisle. - The girl smiles.
Edward leaves one final kiss on Mackenzie's lips before letting her go with Rosalie to the balcony.
-You don't respect us at all. We're here and you kiss anyway. - Emmett says, disgusted.
Mackenzie gets out and into the balcony, being completely silent but Rosalie still hears her. The brown haired girl closes the door, noticing how the blonde girl turns her back on her.
-I don't wanna hear Emmett's stupid jokes about you being a newborn. - Rose warns, without looking back at her.
-I wasn't gonna talk about that, I just wanted to see if you were all right. - Rosalie nods immediately before looking at her.
-Mack, I envy you. - The blonde girl admits, making the mentioned one frown.
-What? That's completely ridiculous. - Mackenzie says, approaching Rose and getting by her side.
