BreeAhn had found herself seated at one more family diner, silent as ever while she had done her best to avoid her father's gaze, in fright that he might ask her about you. She was supposed to have been responsible for bringing you to his upcoming birthday party that was now two days away, but pursuing you on the matter, the last time she had tried, had ended up quite catastrophic.

Part of her held some resentment towards you still, the way you had spoken to her and the fact that you had dared to slap her, had kept her boiling in anger and frustration ever since. However those emotions were nothing but a lie of hers, as deep inside she was not mad at you, she was just hurt.

The fact that no matter what she was to do, she would never be important enough to you. She would never be a priority. She will never be above your dreams, above your opinions and whatever unreasonable resentment you held towards your father. Was it so hard for you to understand, that all she wanted was just a bit of love from you? All she wanted was you for once to put aside the issues with your father and come to give time just for her. Endure a moment in his company just for her. Let her have a simple family memory that you would be part of again.

Only if she could manage one day, to have you both on a picture by her side. If only the two people she loved most in her life could stand by her side, hold her hand, hug her, smile at her, and share their happiness with her, for as long as they were still alive. However seeing how things were going, she knew her hopes were futile. Such a day would most likely never come for her. And you and your father, will both end up one day, just like your mother. You will leave her. She knew that yet she truly wished, for you to not leave her by choice. But that was all you had been doing all along.

Running from him, you had ended up running from her too. Chasing him away, she had ended up feeling unwanted by you, and she could no longer deny that to herself. Maybe she had already lost you.

"Bree dear. Have you decided what you will be wearing at my party?" Her father spoke to her, making her lift up her head, inwardly disappointed for the topic she wanted to avoid had been brought up after all.

"I have, dad. Don't worry. I will be the most beautiful on your birthday." She flashed him a smile which took her some effort and her father beamed in delight.

"Your grandparents will be attending too. They will be so happy to see you all grown up." He uttered leaving her in a brief shock, that she managed to hide away quickly, in order to not fall to the notice of her stepmother, Bobae.

"Oh really? Finally, I will meet them too. They didn't even come to our wedding." Bobae appeared excited and as she looked at Bree, she gave her one more smile, while she gulped her saliva with difficulty for she knew something that the woman did not.

Your father's parents had died a long time ago and that was the reason she had not seen them at their wedding, however, your father had always gone around speaking of the parents of his late wife as his and that most likely could have leaded Bobae to misunderstand. They were still your grandparents however yet they had never visited after the divorce and rarely had even called to check up on you. However, they had checked up on Bree more than enough. They used to send her cards, and gifts for her birthdays.

Someone could assume that she would be delighted to see them and actually it was not that she didn't love them, however, she dreaded being in their presence physically simply because she knew well what kind of topic it usually gets brought up when they unite with your father. And Bree was still in no emotional condition to bear to listen to others speaking about her mother that was no more.

I can't do this alone...I have to get Y/N here no matter what...

She concluded and made a mental note to contact you once she was freed from their presence.
