“How’s everything about your brother going?”

“I don’t really know. For some reasons the police won’t do anything about the case so my family decided to drop it”.

     “What? Why?” Michelle asked.

“Look it’s complicated, like really complicated. I’m so sorry you found out the wrong way”.

“It’s fine but you should put a lock or something like that on your diary”.

“And you should stop being snoopy”.

“Yeah, anyways when is the funeral?”.

     “I don’t know yet”

“I’m happy you’re not taking the loss all so…emotional and all. Just in case, know that someone really cares. I’ll stop by one day and talk with your parents. I hope your mum is okay”.

“She fixed some appointments with our family therapist and it’s helping. I know she can never get over it but she’s trying so hard to hide it”.

“Oh. And why didn’t you want to tell us about it? For that I’m really mad”.

“I have my reasons” He said.

Michelle raised an eyebrow and folded her arms in front of her.

“First, you know Mary talks too much and then Samantha has been acting strange lately”.

     “And me?” She questioned.

                       *SILENCE*

“Very soon it is going to be on air, you know that right?” She explained and Daniel looked down at his shoes.

“Hey look! Mary’s coming” Daniel shoved the topic aside.

“They didn’t have your favorite so I got a Froyo  instead. I don’t know if you like it or not” Mary dropped the Styrofoam cup on the table.

“That’s okay. Bye!” She said and got up to leave.

“Hey! You forgot your-” Daniel said but she was already gone.

“So why did she make me get it for her? I mean I spent my money on this” Mary said frustrated.

     “You offered to pay, remember!”

“Must you say something to me, I wasn’t even talking to you”

“Like I care” Daniel stood up and walked away.

Kylie walked to a nearby car and a guy in a black tuxedo opened the door before she stepped in. she grabbed her phone from the car console and dialed a number.

     “Hey are you free?”.

     “Yes ma’am”.

“Stanley I need you to execute some plans for me”.

“I no longer want to be involved in your dirty acts”.

“Remember that I have the video of you killing the gardener. Great right? I bribed the police not to look into the case and if you disobey me I’ll send them the video and give them extra money to tell the gardener’s family and the public that you’re the killer. If you don’t dance by my tune, then consider yourself heading to jail”.

     “Are you trying to blackmai
l me?”.

“Well aren’t you a genius? But I’m not trying, I’m doing it”.

     “I don’t get you”.

“You shouldn’t. I’ve told you about what happened between me, Michelle, Mary, Samantha and Daniel right?”. She asked.

     “Yes bu…”.

“…Don’t you even try to put up an argument. Now listen. Michelle is trying to get a job in the same place as Samantha and I don’t want that to happen. I need to cause a kind of separation between them”.

“So what’s your separation technique then”.

“Do anything you can do but give me updates before you launch the plan”.

She disconnected the call and sighed.

[The Japheth’s Residence; White Avenue]

“Hope you paid for the drinks you had today. They’re not always free”. Mrs. Freda said to michelle who just walked into the house.

“Yes I did. I’ll be getting a job this evening in a theme park”.

Her mother looked keenly at her. “wow! I hope the place doesn’t get on fire after you’ve been employed”.

     “Why?” Michelle asked.

Mrs. Freda dropped the small scale decoration samples magazine she had with her on a side table and turned to face Michelle. “Every time you and Sammy hunt for a part-time job and you get employed, you two get the place on fire and then get FIRED immediately and girl I do not have any money to spare on paying for damages caused by you”.

“Mum is that why you’ve never allowed me to work in the café?”.

     “No” Her mother answered.

“We were younger then and besides Samantha has already gotten the job and nothing happened. I assure you that this year is different. Samantha has the job; I was qualified for an interview this evening so what could possibly go wrong”.

     “Good luck then”.

Michelle smiled and ran straight to her room wardrobe.

     “Jeans Dungaree…no…Smoky Gown…no…Tennis Skirt…no…Henley top…no… A Baseball Cap…no…T-shirt…no…never…Arrrrrgh! What am I going to wear?”.

After hours of tossing her clothes here and there, she finally settled on Wide leg jeans and a white top that said ‘I GOT IT’. She laid them down on her bed with white sneakers on the floor, not forgetting to blast her favorite music from her mini speaker. She then grabbed her towel and walked into the bathroom.

15 minutes later when she returned she saw the most unbelievable thing and screamed. All her clothes from her wardrobe were ripped in pieces as well as what she had to wear.

“Who did this to me? What I’m I going to wear?” She said pacing up and down her room. Her mother came into the room and screamed.

“Young lady what did you do to your clothes?”.

“Me?! It wasn’t Me-I mean I left the bathroom and met this mess. What am I going to wear?”.

“If this is an excuse to get new clothes then the earlier the better you know that you’ll be regretting this for the rest of your life”.

“Don’t you  believe me? I didn’t do anything”.

“I’ll give you something to wear, follow me”. Her mum said.

     “What?!”.

“Why what? I’m trying to help you so you can go for your interview”.

“Number one they’ll look too big on me and number two, they’re too corporate”.

“And that’s the more reason why you should wear them so you can easily get the job”.

     “I can’t wear them!”.

“Then would you prefer your Dad’s clothes”.

“I’ll take yours”. she followed her and took the clothes she offered. “I hope today goes well”. She said while putting the clothes on.
