After school, Samantha and Michelle were seated in the café.
“I’m so happy about the auditions and my mum has also lifted the punishment on me”.
“Really?! I mean so soon?” Samantha asked in surprise.
“Yes! Anyways did you see Kylie today? Shae always want to participate and if you ask me, it’s not bad at all but I never knew she could sing or dance”.
“Well may be she’s just trying out new things and besides everyone knows that she has money to spare”.
Just then, Kylie walked in with her 6 minions. They all wore matching wide leg jeans, white cropped top and plaid shirts over it and white sneakers to match. The girls stopped where Michelle sat with her friend like they had planned on what to do beforehand.
“Wow! Congrats to you on your big qualification for the next audition, I heard you were part of the selected few. LIKE ME! So I wish you luck if you get through it” Kylie said and left with her girls.
“I can’t stand the sight of her” Michelle stated as she squeezed the life out of the sausage roll she had in her hands.
“You can try to” Samantha said.
“Well I hate her…”
“Hey. Never say you hate someone”.
“But Sammy you heard what she said to me”.
“Michelle look, I know you’ve never liked her and yes she’s a bully, a mean girl, call her whatever you can think of but remember that she is a human, she was once our friend, once my bestie before you came into the picture and you should know that of course she’ll be jealous. You’re always ready to judge her every time she strikes”.
“Sammy I don’t know what has gotten into you but it has to go”.
“Nothing has gotten into me”.
“Why don’t we stop talking about her cause I’m beginning to feel agitated”.
Samantha looked at her and nodded her head. “So what should we talk about” She asked.
“Nothing. I think our brain needs some relieve from stress” Michelle said quietly an ate the remaining sausage roll slowly.

“Still watching T.V? why can’t you do something better with your life and leave the couch” Mrs. Helen told Scott as she left for her evening shift.
“Mum, I don’t have any other thing to do” Scott said.
Stanley came out of the kitchen with chips stuffed in his mouth. “Mum…you see, every…one came here on…earth for a particular reason, some to be presidents, govern…ors, CEO’s, entrepreneurs but, some are here for nothing really big. I guess Scott’s reason here on earth is to watch T.V”.
“Hey, you better be careful cause’ I could have squeezed the life out of you but I won’t cause’ you’re my younger brother and this couch is holding me down” Scott said still looking at the T.V.
“Seriously!” That was from Stanley.
“Okay that’s enough. And Scott, I think you should have your bath now and do something reasonable with your life, you’re 23 for crying out loud. How are you going to build yourself and what would you do when it’s time for you to get married? Think about your life while I’m at work, I’ll drop Stanley off at his work place”.
Stanley ran into the kitchen and took 5 cookies in his hand and just before he left he unplugged the T.V from the socket. “Bye! And don’t forget to meet your friend, the bathroom”.
Scott got up and angrily chased his brother who had ran out of the house.

Samantha had left for work leaving Michelle alone on their favorite table reminiscing good memories on when she had all her friends. From where she sat she had a perfect view of the outside world through the glass. Michelle had exhausted her snacks so she got up to buy more.
“One orange drink and two doughnuts please” She told the woman behind the counter.
The lady told her the price and after payment and collection of the snacks, Michelle turned to go when the lady called her back. “I know you too well to notice that you’ve been eating too much and whenever you do so you’re trying to push something away”.
“Janet, I’m worried about an audition, I mean I got through the first round but I’m scared about the second one and most importantly Diane Joseph would be there. I found out that Kylie…you know her right?”.
“Of course I do. She’s sitting over there, right” Janet pointed at Kylie and her girls.
“Yes, but please do not point at them! It’s too obvious. Anyways, I found out that she was also nominated for the second audition and trust me, she can go any length in making sure she becomes the chosen one and the problem is that I also want to be the chosen one but she’s my greatest competitor. I’ve tried everything I know but she’s always ready to attack. Right now I’m even suspicious of every move she makes, I think shew even bribed her way through because I know she isn’t capable of dancing and not even singing”.
“Are you scared of here?” Janet asked.
“No…Yes…no, sorry I meant yes” She bowed her head. “I’m scared because if I’m not chosen then I don’t think there’s any other way for me to fulfil my dream”.
“Hey look at me”
Michelle looked up at Janet.
“You don’t have to be afraid of any one, especially those you want to beat in life. Never feel like you can’t do it because you can and even if you don’t make it then always remember that every disappointment is a blessing in disguise”.
As Michelle heard the words roll out of Janet’s tongue her face brightened up with a smile. “Thank you so much, that was very much needed”.
“Don’t worry about it, it’s just my thing” Janet winked.
“You’re the best in giving advice”.
“I’m not bragging but you see I’m the best when it comes to giving advice’ I think I should be a life coach”.
“No!” Michelle said alarmed. “Don’t forsake the job you have now, my mum can add raise in your salary and she really needs you”.
“Okay, okay. It’s not like I want to leave but I think I need a raise”.
Michelle smiled and took the snacks to her table.
