Mary ran down the stairs and immediately went to Michelle.
“I need to go now!” She said sweating profusely.
“Why? It’s just twenty-five minutes past six, I’m having a good time and you should also be-”
“-heading home. Look, I need to go home right now and you’re coming with me, we’ll take a minicab right away” Mary said dragging Michelle along with her.
“Wait! We need to tell Christiana first, what in the world is wrong with you?” Michele asked.
“Let’s go” Mary insisted.
“What’s up? Are you girls leaving so soon?” Christiana asked moving towards them in the most innocent face ever.
“Yes. We’ll be taking our leave now; sorry Sammy couldn’t make it” Mary said faking a smile as they left the party.
Daniel walked behind her and tapped her. “Why are the leaving now?” He asked.
“I don’t know; I should be asking you. Sometimes your friends are weird”.
“They’re not my friends” He said.
Christiana turned to face him. “I don’t understand you”.
“It’s a very long story actually” Daniel said. “You should ask Mary herself. Anyways, why don’t we go back to the sitting room”.
“Sure” She said. “Thanks for staying!”.

Principal Alexandra gave another announcement saying that there would be an audition in the school by a popular actress, ‘Diane Joseph’, who was looking for girls with potentials to be casted in a movie she would produce. It was a teen ‘Music’ movie so she needed girls who could sing and dance. Michelle who had always wanted to meet with Diane Joseph took the news as a stepping stone and a way to spite Samantha for taking her position in the debate competition because she knew she would be chosen and she would show Samantha that even if she stole her position, she could get an even better one.
She was on her way to her classroom when she ran into Sammy.
“Just who I was looking for!” Sammy said. “I’m sorry about what I did. I don’t even know what I was thinking, Kylie compelled me into doing it and I accept that I’m a big fool for agreeing to her words but I…I didn’t…”.
“It’s fine” That was Michelle. “You’ve already been forgiven”.
“Really?”.
“Yes”.
“I’m dropping the position then; I can’t take it”.
“No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no! You can still have it. I mean it suits you and I believe you can make this school proud. Besides, I’m interested in the audition” Michelle said.
“That’s great to hear! When I heard about it I thought of you, I know how you love her so much! Anyways, any news about Daniel?”.
“No. he seems too busy these days. Even at Christiana’s party he didn’t talk to us” Michelle said.
“Oh”.
“Anyways I need to go”.
“Okay then, bye” Sammy waved with a smile.
[The Samuel’s Mansion; Diamond Avenue]
“Where the hell is that useless thing?” Kylie asked. Few minutes later, Stanley strolled into her room.
“I’m sorry I’m late”.
“Like I care!” Kylie stated and Stanley rolled his eyes.
“Anyways, Michelle is in for the audition Diane Joseph would be organizing. Stanley, you know her right?”.
“Yes, I…”.
“I don’t want Michelle to be chosen. I heard that there would be two auditions so this is what we would do, we’ll let her be om the first audition. I know she’ll make it through and I’ll give her a moment to think that her dream is finally coming to reality then on the second audition, we’ll humiliate her before Diane Joseph and you, Stanley would help in that part”.
“But I don’t attend your school, I don’t even go to school. How can I do any…”
“Stanley I don’t care!” She reached for her phone and Angel placed it on her palm. “I’ll do what I can. you may leave” Kylie said after hours on her phone. When he left, she turned to her six girls.
“I don’t know how to sing; neither do I know how to dance so need to bribe the judges to get through the first audition. Flourish, you’re in charge of it”. “If I’m chosen by Diane Joseph it’ll be a great honor and achievement for me cause’ for 5 years now she’s been my next door neighbor. It would guarantee me some attention from her and I’ll also become popular. I’ll be a celebrity!” She said excitedly.
Ella shot her hands up to ask a question.
“Yes?” Kylie asked.
“I thought this whole thing was to rip Michelle’s dream apart” Ella said.
“Of course it is. I have two reasons for doing this”.
“Oh”.

The day for the First audition had finally arrived, in the assembly hall two chairs and a table were placed just a foot away from the platform. The auditions were due from the break period up and until the closing hour. Michelle was #57 and she waited anxiously for her turn, Sammy sat down beside her in the hallway outside the assembly hall.
“Number fifty-seven, kindly make your way to the assembly hall. Thank you” A female voice blasted from a nearby intercom.
“Good luck!” Samantha wished her.
“Thank you” Michelle said as she made her way to the assembly hall.
“Wish you the best!” Samantha shouted.
“Thank you!” Michelle smiled. She pushed the door open and went in.

Michelle came out of the hall looking sad.
“What happened? Don’t tell me you didn’t get qualified for the next audition” Sammy said.
“I got qualified!” Michelle screamed and Samantha joined her.
“So how did it go?”.
“In there I knew I was on the road to my success even when the judges were freaking me out with some parking lots on the way but I refused to stop, I stayed put and when I was done they said I was qualified”.
“I’m so happy for you”.
“Me too. Hey, did you see the story about Daniel’s brother, King, on the news last night? I knew it would eventually come on the news”.
“No. but I heard the funeral would take place this evening” Samantha said.
“Oh”.
“I’m sure Daniel doesn’t want us to be there” Samantha said.
“But his family will say that we don’t care”.
“And that’s the truth, we never really knew him before his death. Right now let’s celebrate okay? I mean your dream is coming to reality”.
“Okay, why don’t we go to the canteen to get something to celebrate with then” Michelle said and they left for the school’s canteen.
