"Have you guys factored in that she actually might not be here?" Robin announced as she brought her face away from the window, shifting her gaze to the two boy's desperately searching the streets as they drove slowly through,

"Yeah well it's worth trying okay? Just keep looking," Eddie scolded,

"It's a bit of a wasted trip if she isn't here, right? I mean, it's going to have cost a lot in gas to get here it's a four hour tr—-"

"Robin!" Steve sighed "she's your best friend right? Just look for her"

Robin tutted "you guys are like hormonal husbands"

"Jesus H Christ! Will you please just look for her! She could be anywhere, there's people fucking everywhere, we need as many eyes as possible okay!! We need to find her" Eddie ranted with short breaths, not wanting to miss her in the crowds swarming the busy streets. All he wanted was to find her, make sure she was okay, Hold her... help her...

The three had been looking for hours, there was still no sign of Mia... and they'd ran out places to look... so they reluctantly decided to take a break and stop at a diner since they hadn't ate since they left Hawkins;

"Hey, Eddie? Man, what do you want?" Steve swiped his hand in front of eddies focused face, snapping him out of his long train of thoughts, pausing the cycle of bad scenarios he was imagining,

"What?" He harshly spat but quickly changed his expression,

"What do you want to eat?"

"Oh..." he peered down at the menu quickly and looked for something to spike his interest.... Strawberry waffle stack... mias favourite... "I'll have this," he pointed at the menu, having Steve glance and nod before hopping up and going to order for all of them,

"Eddie... we will find her you know?" Robin spoke up, placing a friendly hand on his arm,

"Yeah.... I know- she, it's just this isn't like her!"

"People do crazy things..." she shrugged, pulling her hand away seconds before Steve came back to the table, three bottles of coke in his hands, "did you ask the waitress?"

"Yeah, no one called Mia— I didn't have a picture of her to show" Steve sighed, awkardness filling the air between the three, eyes constantly scanning the diner, hoping she'd just pop up from somewhere... but of course, that would be too predictable.

It didn't take long for their food to come, Robin and Steve digging straight in whilst Eddie just starred at his plate.... He didn't even like strawberry waffles... he hated them, but his brain was so conditioned to think about her he had ordered the one thing he hated, the one thing she got every time they went to a diner...

"Jesus. Eddie? Aren't you going to eat? You were the one complaining in the first place!" Robin tapped his plate with her fork,

"I uh— you know, I don't think I'm hungry anymore...." He sniffled, pushing the plate into the middle of the table, leaning his head on his hands, facing the window, watching the people walk past, everyone different; different styles, different personalities, each person who passed by so different to those who roamed the streets of Hawkins....
Slowly as he was people watching, he started noticing Steve and Robins loud, obnoxious chewing right in his ear, making him quickly snap his head round to them in a huff, "do you want to chew any fucking louder? Jesus H Christ it's like being sat with a couple of horses!"
