the group had been away in California for four days already, spending each day sunbathing, surfing, shopping and exploring; Eddie was seriously mentally preparing himself for their last day, the sixth day where he was going to say one sentence that could change everything. he was waiting for the right moment, and what better than taking her out to the only diner he could scope out, knowing those where her favourite types of food places, then walking her along the beach.... before taking a stop when she wants to take a picture and while she's focused, he'd do it, he'd lower himself to his knee and ask the most terrifying question of his life;
Though... he still had two days to fight with his demons, his brain arguing with his heart... he just had to make sure it was the right thing... He needed time to keep his eye on her, see if he was right, if it is meant to be...

On their fifth day Mia and Stiles thought it would be a good idea to take their friends for a type of 'tour' around their favourite places in California. About 12pm the siblings decided on taking their friends to the little café on the beach just to get something fast for their lunch.
The group took over the biggest table in the small café, all of them crammed together, big menus being shared around as they decided what they were having...
"Did you guys come here a lot?" Robin asked with a smile,
Mia and stiles looked at each other before she spoke "Yeah... When ever Monica was-- well when she wasnt manic... or even when she was i guess, she used to bring us here... buy us lunch and take us to the beach-- well shed take us to meet billy and his mom there, and just leave us.." She explained, nodding the whole way through,
Steve and Eddie shared a look, as robin nodded,
"Okay, it seriously isn't as bad as it sounds... it was good... I suppose" Stiles added,
"Right..." Steve shook his head "Did you two have any other friends besides Billy Hargrove?"
"Yes, i was very popular, Billy and I were part of this group... like one of--"
"He was a popular ass hole, is what he's trying to say," Mia sighed "But yeah we both had our own little friend groups, I had a few friends, my best friend V and her boyfriend Kev were the ones i was closest to, but i had another few friends, Toby, Spencer, Hannah, Caleb... I didn't have many i guess... but yeah... those were my main friends..."
"Did you-- were you seeing any of them?" Eddie spoke quickly "Well besides Billy..."
Mia laughed, "No Eddie, you don't need to worry if we bump into any of them, they wont suddenly pounce on me... no they were all seeing each other, Toby and spence, Hannah and Caleb, and yeah like I said, V and Kev"
"acting like you didn't have the fattest crush on Caleb" stiles snickered, earning himself a kick from Mia and a cold look from Eddie just as Steve spoke,
"How did you manage to be closer to those two than the rest?"
"what do you mean-- its like, its always like that, you always end up closer to one or two than the rest" she shrugged, still darting her eyes at her brother
"So if this V woman was your best friend, why don't you talk to her anymore?" Robin kept the questions rolling,
"What is this? 20 questions? We just lost touch because i ended up staying in Hawkins after the will situation... She didn't have my number, i didn't have hers either.. friends are easy to loose when your not in the same state... i guess. Plus its childhood friends, n-no big deal I suppose... I do miss them though" She shrugged, leaning her head onto Eddies shoulder with a huff,
