In the 19th addition to the second season of our beloved show ('O Titan, Where Art Thou') Dana sneaks in a quick and symbolic message via King during his conversation with former coven scout Steve.

King is seen embracing his connection to the isles and his blood lineage as a titan in this scene that not many people may have caught the first time around:

Look familiar? King lies in a puddle and closes his eyes, he even bends his knee – his right knee – in the same way the Titan has. What's the reason King decided to mimic his ancestor?

There are two options to explore. The first one being that King wants to feel closer, or connected even, to his dad that he never got to meet.

The other being that he is embracing the fact that one day, he'll be just like the Titan. One day, he'll be the Titan's size, and one day, he'll be nothing but a skeleton for witches and others of the life to live on.

Maybe he's trying to symbolize both here.

Speaking of witches, Steve adds icing to the cake by adding his own touch to the scene.

Steve placing this paper witch figure on King's snout symbolizes how witches colonized the Titan, and will maybe do the same when King's reign is over

In conclusion, this scene was very symbolic to King and the Titan, and Dana does an incredible job at sneaking it in there. The simple scene forces viewers to realize that King won't be around forever, and one day, he'll be just like the Titan - his father. Excuse me while I go cry now.
