Chapter 5

"Huwag kang matakot sa akin," sabi bigla ni Alfe.

I didn't bother glancing at him. I don't know what I am even doing here inside his car. He dragged me here without a word after he beat Wendell up to death and now he's telling me to not get scared of him. I don't know him. I'm in shock that he could do such a thing.

Observing the atmosphere and feeling his presence, he doesn't seem to be concerned at all. What kind of person is he? Mali yata ang nilapitan kong tao. He could be a serial killer!

My nerves were so heightened, that I looked around to see if his hiding something here. Baka may tinatago syang weapon dito. Gosh! I'm overthinking I've seen an actual fight before but it's not this intense.

I was at the scene and I wasn't able to stop him. May kasalanan din ako at ginawa iyon ni Alfe dahil siguro sa akin. Wala namang ibang reason, hindi naman nya gugulpihin ng ganun ang tao ng walang dahilan.

"We'll both end up behind bars," naiiyak na sabi ko at lumingon sa kanya.

"We won't," kalmado nyang saad.

"Bakit mo ba kasi ginawa yun?" Naiinis na ako. "Wala namang ginawang masama ang tao sa iyo atsaka lasing yun."

"You looked so anxious when I saw you out of that door. I concluded that man did something to you," prenteng sagot nya habang naglilinis ng kamao.

"How did you know he was there?" pagtataka ko.

"He left the game to follow you upstairs. I wasn't wrong." He met my eyes. "Did he hurt you? Anong ginawa nya sayo sa loob?"

"Nevermind. You already beat him up. Hindi mo na kailangan malaman," sabi ko.

"I thought you liked him," he said.

"No, I don't," sagot ko. "He likes me."

He faked a cough. "Then why did you let him kiss you?"

I sighed. "It was part of the game. I'm not a spoilsport." I paused. "Can we not talk about it? Explain to me why you did it. Hindi ko naman sinabi sa iyo na gawin yun. Don't bring me down with you. Ayokong makulong. May pangarap pa ako!"

Nagulat ako nang bigla syang mahinang natawa sabay iling. The world stopped in a fraction of a second. I gulped and shook my head when I thought of him being so handsome while laughing. This moment should be all serious. I'm still upset about what happened.

Imbes na sagutin ako ay binuhay nya ang sasakyan.

"What are you doing?" kinakabahang tanong ko. Sinubukan kong buksan ang sasakyan kaso nakalock na. "Saan mo ako dadalhin? Will you bring me to your base and torture me? Will you beat me up, too? Are you a psycho killer?"

Kanina lang kasi ay galit sya tapos ay naging malamig atsaka naging kalmado at bago lang ay tumawa sya. There must be something wrong with him. He's so unpredictable.

"Hindi kita sasaktan. Aalis lang tayo dito at magpapahangin, Trea," natatawang sagot nya.

Napanguso ako. "How about Gus? Hindi ako nakapagpaalam kay Dafiah! Paano si Wendell?"

"Who's Wendell?" tanong nya nang hindi tinatanggal ang tingin sa kalsada.

"Yung ginulpi mo. Nakakaawa yun! We should not leave. Dadalhin natin sya sa hospital para magamot. Mageexplain din tayo sa pulis bago pa tayo mademanda!"

"Don't think about him. Don't be guilty about what happened, it's not your fault. And, Gus will take care of it."

"What? Paano ko yun makakalimutan? You beat him in front of me! I couldn't sleep! Magkakainsomnia talaga ako nito!"
