Chapter 25

Alfe and I decided to go straight to Vier to have dinner after he picked me up from our house at Rabelas. unang beses itong lalabas kami para kumain. Mabuti naman at naisipan ni Alfe na dalhin ako dito ngayon.

"What do you want for dinner tonight?" he asked as he glanced over at me on the passenger.

I hummed to think. "Steak. Please no Italian food."

He cracked a laugh. "Tired of it? I'll tell Malvo."

"No," mabilis na pigil ko sa kanya. "Don't tell him." Nakakahiya kung ganun. Wala na nga akong ibang ginawa sa mansion kundi ang kumain tapos magrereklamo pa ako sa cook.

"You can request almost anything," aniya.

Hindi ko na hinintay si Alfe na pagbuksan ako ng pinto dahil sa sabik na bumaba ng sasakyan. Iba talaga ang atmosphere dito sa Vier. It's the economic zone here in Soralia, so even at nights, people are strolling around, I even saw someone taking a jog.

Alfe reached for my hand as we exited the parking. I followed him until we reached a familiar classic restaurant. It's the same restaurant as the last time I found him here. Dito din sila kumain nung kasama nya. 

Agad kaming sinalubong at binati ng isang staff pagkapaosk namin. The restaurant is not crowded, not more than 5 tables are occupied. Mukhang mamahalin ang resturant at mayayamang tao lang ang dumadalo. Kung ako lang ang pipili ay dun nalang ako sa restaurant nina Mia kesa dito.

As I said, I ordered steak and some side dishes. While waiting for our order, I said to Alfe, "It's our first date."

He smiled. "Leave more space on your list. We'll go on more dates."

"Let's find time to date after campaigns before we go home. I'd like to try all the restaurants here," I suggested.

"Let's have a trip this weekend," he said.

"To where?" excited na tanong ko.

"To an island."

"Island?" pagsisiguro ko.

He nodded. "I know how much you wanted to get out of the mansion. I thought that it would be healthy for you to be in a new place. It's private so it's safe for us."

"Then, I should start thinking about what to pack." I paused. "For how long are we staying on the island."

"For how long you want."

"Oh, that's impossible. I have to be back here in Soralia for the campaign." malungkot na sabi ko.

"Huwag ka nalang sumama sa kampanya."

"But I want to. I want to meet people. See the people to whom Papa dedicated his service. It is important to me."

Tumango lang si Alfe sa akin. Sinabihan ko din sya na hindi na talaga nya kailangan ang samahan ako kahit saang kampanya. Alam kong may trabaho sya at ayokong igugol nya ang oras sa akin. Baka pagsabihan na naman ako ni Signora kung kukunin ko lahat ng oras nya.

It's already late when we arrived at the mansion. I felt so sleepy the entire ride. I couldn't wait to hit the sack. Sobrang tamad akong nagtanggal ng seatbelt kaya ay si Alfe na ang nagbukas ng pinto ng sasakyan para sa akin.

Sabay kaming pumanhik ni Alfe sa 2nd floor. I quickly washed up the moment i entered my room while Alfe went to his to do the same. Nagpapatuyo ako ng buhok ko nang pumasok si Alfe ng kwarto ko.

"Let me help you," he offered.

Hinayaan ko siya na tulungan ako kasi nangangalay na ang mga braso ko. Tinatamad na din ako dahil sa antok. Medyo mamasa-masa pa ang buhok ko nang sabihin ko kay Alfe na matutulog na talaga ako. I yawned as I snuggled myself into the bed.
