I woke up with my feelings so heavy. I visioned the familiar ceiling of my room here in the mansion. The familiar scent is also crowding my nostril. I feel nothing, I feel numb. I couldn't sense my body. I tried to open my lips to speak but I failed. My right leg is in a cast and it's hanging. I couldn't move my head freely, I think I have a neck brace on.

The accident did really happen. It wasn't a nightmare. The sounds of the monitor made it clear that my condition right now is serious. Though I am in my room right now and not in the hospital.

I moved my eyes to the side to see who was sitting there. I saw Papa. He hadn't noticed I'm awake since he was talking on the phone.

The next time I woke up, Alfe's familiar figure manifested at the side of my bed. This time, I could feel my body. I think if I try to move my toes, I could. I'm still in my room and it's a little cold right now. I feel my lips so dry and I'm thirsty.

Alfe's eyes are fixed on his laptop. Dark circles under his eyes were visible, his hair was a little bit messy, and he definitely look sleepy.

"A-Alfe," I called.

He turned to me as soon as he heard me. He dropped his laptop, dragged his chair closer, and leaned forward. "Trea. You're awake. How do you feel? Anything hurt?"

"I-I'm cold," nahihirapang sagot ko.

He tugged the blanket over my chest. "For a moment. Don't try to move," he gently said and then stood up.

"Light some candles here then turn up the heater a bit and wake my brother up. Tell him Trea's awake and he has to check her. Pakibilisan."

"Where's Papa?" I asked.

"He'll be here later. He was here but he left. Do you need anything?"

"I'm thirsty."

"I'll get water," he said and then turned around.

"What time is it?" I asked.

"It's past 3 am. You've been sleeping for a couple of days. My brother will come here and check on you. You'll get better. I will help you recover," he answered.

"Aren't you going to ask about what happened?"

"Take a rest for now. Ang importante ay gumaling ka." He seated on his chair by my bed. "Huwag mo munang isipin ang nangyari. Let's take it easy."

My leg isn't hanging anymore but I'm still wearing casts and a neck brace.

"You shouldn't have moved," mahinang saway nya sa akin. "Your body gets exhausted with just small movements. Ask me first or tell me what you want so I can do something."

"I can move my legs but painful as well as my arm," I told him.

"You fractured your leg and your bruises are fresh. You also sprained your arm," he answered as he try to feed me water with a spoon.

"Can I still walk?" natatakot at kinakabahang tanong ko.

"Of course. In a few weeks."

"I can drink directly from the glass," sabi ko nang akma na naman nya akong subuan.

"Of all the time, you decided to wake up at this hour," Axe started.

"Axe!" malalim at seryosong babala ni Alfe sa kapatid.
