It Had been weeks since N-Tek, Vangaun, and Max Steel Destroyed the Alpha Link, and eliminated the invading Ultralink Armada Comanded by Evil world Devourer Makino Master of Technology. And as a result, The people of Copper Canyon were enjoying their hard won victory thanks to the valiant heroes who managed to destroy the awful threat to Earth. Not long after that, Makino managed to play a message, informing any and all remaining ultra-links to chase after his head piece. This resulted in Max and Jim McGrath nearly being enslaved permanently, and earth nearly being cracked in half. Max's father made the ultimate sacrifice on finally putting an end to Makino. By damaging Makinos core unit with a massive turbo energy explosion. Afterwards, Max and Steel used Turbo Nova Rocket mode to fly Makinos core unit, straight to the sun, destroying his core unit, and forever terminating the threat of Makino to both Earth and the universe. It was eventually revealed that when N-Tek regrouped at the Daedelous platform, Jim was alright, though it would take him some time to recover from the Turbo explosion. He assured Max that his turbo powers would return and recharge in good time.

Unfortunately though, while Makino was finally destroyed, he wasn't the only threat N-Tek had faced. During the final battle with Makino Alphalink, Toxzon, Extroyer, Miles Dredd and Jason Naught escaped from N-Tek custody and went into hiding.

Since the breakout, N-Tek had been working hard to locate and apprehend the escaped criminals once again. From high in the atmosphere above Earth on board the Daedelous platform,
