As my feet graze the rooftop of a small, apartment complex, I know I'm in the clear. I stop my movement when my feet hit the ground, and I quickly slip out of the parachute straps before the wind can drag me off the roof.
With a smile on my face, I can't believe I did it. Looking back, I see the high building I came from and can't believe I pulled it off.
Landing only a rooftop away is Jungkook, climbing out of his gear, too. After dropping the parachute, he spots me from the other side.
"Think you'll be up for a little parkour?" He asks a little loudly across the short distance.
He looks back at the other crew members who begin landing on rooftops farther away. "We're splitting up for the night. We have a few cars out to gather some people, but the ones far away from any vehicle will have to find somewhere to lay low. Unfortunately, we're one of the ones to have to crash somewhere." He admits, turning around when beginning to hear sirens. "Follow me,"
He runs forward, jumping off the rooftop of the building to the one in front of him. When he lands, he turns to me with a smile. "It's easy. If you did that," he points at the sky, "Then I know this is easily doable for you,"
His confidence in myself encourages me. I follow his example and run forward, jumping across the small gap between the buildings until landing on the same one as him.
"See? You're a natural," he chuckles, jogging forward to the next building as I follow closely behind with a grin.
With the sounds of sirens, people waking up and turning on the lights in their homes, and us running across rooftops during what would be the dead of night, I feel alive.
I breathe in the cold air, blowing out clear puffs from my lips as we keep up the pace and run. I hate running, but this doesn't seem so bad, especially if I have someone who believes in me by my side.

"Come on, one more jump," Jungkook motions for me, sweat trickling down his forehead when the sirens are patrolling the street we're on. He holds his hand out for me on the rooftop in front of me, reaching toward me with his guiding palm.
I stand on the rooftop frozen, worry on my features from the large gap between the buildings. The distance between us feels like miles. If I don't make it, I'll fall at least eight stories to the ground, swallowed up by the black hole between us.
As I see the police flashlights coming out of the cop vehicle and aimed up at the rooftops around us, I realize I don't have time for fear.
Taking in a large breath, I let the adrenaline still coursing through my veins force my body to lunge toward the next roof. When my feet leave the comfort of the roof, I imagine the world moving in slow motion.
Jungkook's eyes are on mine, hand over the edge of the building to catch me, my sweaty forehead, despite the way my body is burning up, freezes me as if I've been hit in the face with a sudden snowball.
With the world beginning to speed up once more, I find myself falling as I near the brick wall on the side. Right before my face can crash into the bricks, knocking me unconscious and surely dead if I were to hit the pavement below, Jungkook's muscular arm grabs hold of my body and pulls me up skillfully.
