Taehyung hits the side of the truck, signaling to pull over. Barbie drives into an empty, small gas station. Luckily, the store is closed and only the gas pumps are open for use.
"Twix, act like we're here for gas. Barbie and Vee, you two come with me. Pull off the masks, too," he admits, sliding his mask off while tossing it on the floor of the truck.
While everyone else gets out of the truck, Barbie hands me a few makeup wipes to remove the clown makeup from off of my face. I remove the crown, too and place it in the seat after I've gotten all that I can from off of my face.
Taehyung soon stops himself from jumping down after noticing his mask with a grim expression.
"You did not draw a dick on my mask," he says with all seriousness. His gaze flashes to Twix who only smiles and scrunches her nose.
"Yeah, I did," she nods her head up and down like a toddler who's proud of herself with her hands placed on her hips.
Taehyung, saying nothing, gently tosses the small safe on the ground and places one hand on the edge while skillfully slinging his legs over the edge until landing perfectly on the ground.
Crouching to the ground, he picks up the safe while pressing it to his chest.
He starts walking forward, hunched over as if his stomach is hurting for the cameras, but holds the safe in his arms. He walks forward to the side of the gas station and steps into the bathroom.
Barbie and I follow a few minutes after, talking like best friends for the cameras, but striking up conversations that we enjoy for the moment.
Once we're by the restrooms, Taehyung opens the door to the men's bathroom, and we walk inside. Thankfully, the cameras can't see us from the side angle.
Taehyung has the safe on the dirty floor, and we stare at it with curiosity while also considering how to crack it open.
"Can't you throw it? Maybe it can bust open that way?" Barbie asks, but Taehyung shakes his head.
"It's unlikely. I tried taking the battery out and throwing it on the ground in here, but it did nothing. I could always try other methods, but they would take longer and be risky, so I think it'll be better if we use a black light to see the fingerprints on the code, and then we can guess from there. I've got one back at the house. Let's take it with us and try our luck." He mumbles with seriousness while picking up the safe once more.
"Let's head back before the cops start looking for us. I don't want to know what'll happen if they catch us." He admits.
Barbie and I exit the bathroom together a few minutes later. We walk to the truck, continuing to talk once we're in view of the cameras. Thankfully, the cameras are only on the building, so they won't pick up the back part of the truck or our masks, or even the safe.
This time, I sit in the passenger seat while Barbie climbs into the driver's side.
Twix is already in the back, flipping through pages of the green journal with a gloomy expression.
Before I know it, Barbie is knocking on the back window for Twix's attention. Raising her voice for Twix to hear, Barbie keeps her eyes on hers.
