ENGLISH CLASS CAME to an end, and Irina had taken you out of your next lesson to speak to you, as she was busy during lunchtime.

"Couldn't you have just waited until the end of the day" you whined, upset you were missing Karasuma's class, which wasn't like any normal PE class.

"I have a lot of marking to do after school, i also need to buy food and buy some new outfits for the both of us."

"I get the food and school marking stuff, but shopping can wait till Saturday."

"No it can't! I'm going out for dinner with a few friends, and I've worn everything in my wardrobe already. There's no way I'm wearing them again, except some of them."

You roll your eyes at that. Sometimes you wonder whether fashion is all she cares about.

"Let's not forget the fact that even the shirt you're wearing now is getting small! Your bust is getting bigger everyday, we can't have you ripping shirts again." She says, pointing towards your now small shirt that you're wearing.

Your cheeks glow a bright red in embarrassment.

"Why do you speak about such things so casually!? You're really embarrassing…" you say, turning your face away from her, so that she won't get the chance to tease you, or even worse, pinch your soft cheeks.

"Hah!? No I'm not!" She starts pouting and folds her arms across her chest as you guys walk into the building.

'She's such a child sometimes..' you thought.

You both made it into the faculty room, you taking a seat in one of the soft chairs while your mother sits in the one opposite.

Your gaze becomes stern and the tense atmosphere was very visible.

"Now, care to explain?" You say, voice unwavering and slightly angry. I mean, who wouldn't be after you own mother lies to you about something that's worth being talked about for 3 months!?

Irina sighs, thinking about how she should word her sentences so that another argument wouldn't break out between the two of you.

You and Irina aren't all that close. Since she is an assasin, Irina is normally busy with her missions. Either that or she's at the office, filling out important paperwork and sorting out documents. Especially for the last 3 months, you both have been very distant towards each other.

You know how busy her job can be and how it puts her under a lot of stress and pressure, which is why you've learnt to be an independent daughter. Ever since the age of 12, you've learnt how to live on your own, seeing as your mother isnt usually at home to care for your needs. But her being honest to you wouldn't hurt, would it?

"(name), you know how work is, it puts me under a lot of pressure and I forget things like that." She says

"So you're telling me that you forgot you had a job at a school for 3 months? I didn't know your memory was that bad." You retort

"(name), don't start." Her voice was firm, seems like she was tired of your rudeness

You got up and slammed your hands onto the table that separated you from her.

"Actually, I will. You've been keeping this stupid secret from me for 3 freaking months and you're acting like it's not a big deal. You lied to my face, so don't expect me to not be angry about it."

"I didn't want-"

"You didn't want what? To argue with me? Waste your time on me? Am I really that much of a burden?!" Tears fill your eyes.

'Don't cry (name)... don't let her see you're hurting, she'll only hate you for being so needy, always wanting attention.' Overthinking has become a friend that you didn't want. Always overthinking something small…

You turn around and leave the faculty room, slamming the door on the way out. Irina jumps out of her seat and runs after you. But you were already gone.
