As I sat in my newly adorned office, I elegantly crossed my legs while typing away on my Macbook.

My task at hand is to attend to and manage the incoming correspondence on behalf of Malachi.

With attentive eyes and quick response, I filtered through the emails, ensuring that only the most pressing matters were brought to his attention.

Dejanae on the other hand is seated comfortably on the couch in front of me, with her feet propped up on the armrest. She was fully immersed in the music, as evidenced by the AirPods securely in her ears and the rhythmic movement of her head.

I glanced up at her, contemplating as to whether or not I should let her know about what had occurred in my life recently.

I have always been reserved when it comes to sharing personal details of my life with others, but that all changed after I met Malachi and Dejanae. They have a warm and welcoming demeanor that makes me feel comfortable and at ease. Their non-judgmental attitude has encouraged me to open up and freely share my thoughts and experiences with them.

It's a liberating feeling to have people in my life who I can trust and confide in without fear of being criticized.

"Deej." I called her name, trying to get her attention. But the AirPods in her ears were blocking out all external sounds, so she didn't hear me.

I reached for the pen on my desk and tossed it in her direction. The pen hit her belly, causing her eyes to snap open in surprise. She looked around, momentarily startled and frightened by the sudden impact.

I giggled and averted my eyes to my MacBook, "A wah do yuh?"

"Girl me swear a time run pass me enuh. Me deh yasso a listen to law boss and ina deep meds." She exclaimed, taking her feet off the armrest and sitting upright.

"Hush." I told her, laughing in between, "A something me did wah talk to yuh bout."

"Oh alright." She then took her airpods out of her ears, and rested it on the couch alongside her phone, before she leaned back into the seat, settling in for the conversation.

I shut the face of the MacBook and fidgeted with my fingers, wondering where I should start.

"Alright, so first thing." I spoke up, "Me and Lennox leff."

Dejanae mouth gaped open, evidently not expecting this to be a topic, "Gyal yuh too lie! Him find out bout you and Mr. Forbes or something?"

"More like the other way around. Me find out bout him ooman after him claim say him a 'network with professionals." I quoted and the surprise didn't leave Dejanae's face.
