PENNY
MABILIS na lumipas ang mga araw. Next thing I know, tapos na ang one week vacation namin sa Japan and we're all set to go home to the Philippines today. It seemed like time flew by too fast as we were busy enjoying and making memories together.
We woke up at around seven in the morning since twelve in the afternoon ang flight namin pabalik ng Pilipinas. Kumain muna kami ng breakfast bago magtungo sa Tokyo International Airport. We took a couple of pictures, mostly selfies and such before we left. Cora even took videos even though her phoneʼs storage is about to be full.
After we got to our plane, I prayed that weʼll have a safe ride back home. Nang matapos, napabuntong-hininga na lang ako at tiningnan ang mga katabi ko.
Napagigitnaan ako ng dalawang magkaibigang tukmol na sina Clifford at Jago sa mga upuan. Both of them were leaning their heads to my shoulders. Gusto ko sana silang ayusin since ang bigat ng mga ulo nila, pero hinayaan ko na lang dahil mukhang mga kulang pa sila sa tulog.
I looked to the other side and saw Cora, Mason, and Remi. Cora was asleep and her head was leaning on Masonʼs shoulder. Nakita ko namang may hawak na phone si Remi at nanonood sila ni Mason doon. Theyʼre probably watching the videos Cora took when we were in Japan.
Isinandal ko na lang ang ulo ko sa headrest ng upuan at huminga nang malalim. Bigla namang umayos ng pwesto si Jago at isinandal sa katabi niyang bintana ang kaniyang ulo. Nakahinga naman ako nang maluwag dahil gumaan ang balikat ko. Though, Cliffordʼs head is still resting on my left shoulder.
Pasimple kong tiningnan ang mukha niya. He looks so peaceful while sleeping. Mukhang napaka-inosente niya, akala mo, hindi makakagawa ng kalokohan.
"Salamat kasi nandʼyan ka."
I smiled when I remembered what he told me a few days back.
