Got Your Back, Always

IV.XIX

Long after the sun goes down, Sebastian finally gathers his things to leave the office. He glances as Cassie.

"Stay here in this office. I'll return in the morning."

He got no response, like usual. But when he left the building she did not follow him.

No instead the purple mist surrounding her eyes started to swirl and leave her system.

Cassie gasped as all of it left her, and she collapsed to the ground.

The sun rose and filled the room up with light, hitting Cassie in the face.

She groaned and opened her eyes. She sighed and looked around and her eyes landed on the couch. She crawled up onto it and sighed.

The door opened but she didn't look to see who it was.

"Cassie?" Conner walked in. "Cassie?" He walked over to her and noticed how drained she looked. "Cassie?"

She sighed and just closed her eyes, ignoring him.

"Um, I'm going to take you to Dick. He'll know how to help you."

Conner picked Cassie up bridal style and sped off.

He arrived at S.T.A.R. Labs and found the RV, and placed her on the bed before speeding back out.

Cassie groaned at the loud noise, but curled up and fell back asleep. Krypto perked up and crawled into bed with her, and leaned against her, taking another nap as well.

Kory looked around the lab, "Okay. So we're back?"

"I hope so," Gar gagged and tried to shake off the bat feeling. "Thanks Kory."

She chuckles, "Yeah."

Tim walked in from behind them, "Kory."

"Hey, look who I brought with me."

Tim smiled and hugged Gar, "Welcome back. Where were you?"

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you."

Kory noticed the look on his face, "Tim what's wrong?"

He sighs, "I know what Sebastian and Conner are doing."

Cassie groaned looking at Krypto who was whining at her. "What Krypto? What do you need?"

He whined and ran over to the door.

She sighed and slowly crawled out of the bed, taking the blanket with her, and opened the door. He quickly ran outside and used the bathroom off to the side.

She scrunched her face up at the sun.

Krypto was right back at her side in only a few seconds.

"Hmm, come on let's go back to sleep."

Instead of listening to her Krypto took off running towards the entrance to S.T.A.R. Labs, making Cassie groan, again, but still she followed after him. Trudging her feet the entire way.

He lead her to the modest food court they had and jumped onto the counter of the smoothie bar.

"You want a smoothie?" She asked him, but shrugged. "Ok here." She grabbed a cup and filled it with the first thing she could and looked at Krypto who just tilted his head.

"Right, you can't use straws." She looked around and saw a bowl, grabbed that, and filled it up. She placed it down in front of him and he immediately started to drink it. "Hmm. Must be good." She picked up the cup she originally filled up and took a sip. She gave a small nod, "Not bad."
