I really thought this lockdown thing was supposed to be a 2 or 3 week trend. How tf could I have been so stupid? You know, despite the fact that Serena and I weren't in touch, I was kinda enjoying my life. Playing Minecraft, eating mangoes, chilling around with my sis and all. Plus they started streaming an age-old TV show called 'Mahabharat' which was ancient, from the time my parents were kids. I used to watch it and it was really good. Basically my life was awesome.
"Ray," Mom said as she woke me up. "Your school is doing something weird."
"Whut?" I managed to say as my brain restarted.
It really was a disaster. Can't describe what, but I really couldn't be in that school anymore. It would impact my career and I wasn't taking that risk. Neither could a few others from my school. We decided to change schools and transfer to this other school which was a little out of town. We changed schools, and this new school was already starting their next grade. Made sense cuz the final exams for that year were already cancelled cuz COVID-19.
Why don't I sound utterly disappointed and fed up of my existence? Well that's because Serena changes schools too, and I was on cloud nine.
Our new school started class 9 online, and we had to attend online lectures. If was fun. The teachers were good. Btw, Peter and Iris didn't change schools. Idk why. Neither did Ava and Samantha. Alex did though (ugh). And the best part? Andy and his twin brother changed schools too and now we could go to school together. Well, at least after physical school started.

I was solving physics when I saw a notification pop up on my phone. And guess what? It was a text from Serena. I swear my heart skipped a beat. I quickly opened the chat and saw it.

I really thought this was something apart from studies for once. I helped her with the chemistry thing, and she thanked me. I really wanted to talk more. To talk about us. How everything kinda got messed up.
I guess she did too.

"Was it true? What they were all saying... Do you actually like me?"
