Part - 27 A World behind a Screen

Slightly earlier

Daniel watched as Bismarck was ferried away on a stretcher, still writhing in pain.

He couldn't help but wince,

"What's gonna happen to her?...." Daniel said, asking Z23, who was standing right next to him.

"Well... I think they might take her to the shipyard or somewhere to make repairs.... But, I've never seen her in this much pain, maybe she'll go to a human hospital..." Z23 said.

"Oh, so there's an actual hospital... good... well I hope she makes it...." Daniel said

Maybe it was just the pity he felt when she was in the terrible condition from before, but something was off about Bismarck, something that made her different from almost any other person he'd ever met before.

It was a little strange, it never happened when anyone else was in pain,

Was it because....

"Daniel.... Is that you? Did you call me on my phone? 'Cause I never remembered answering you!" A voice said, a really familiar voice,

Having been trapped here for a few days now, the memory of the speaker didn't exactly come to mind immediately.

Daniel delved into his thoughts a little, trying to remember

Was that Fritz? as in his friend? It sounded similar to him, but as far as he knew he didn't see Fritz anywhere on the ship he came here from.

Z23 was still standing next to him, immediately noticing that he was tensing up

"Is something wrong?" Z23 inquired.

"I think I hear someone...." Daniel said while immediately walking off, like he was searching for something

Now, ever since the battleship arrived in port, there were lots of people around, so the term "someone" wasn't exactly the clearest choice of wording.

But still, Z23 followed after him,

Daniel immediately began to weave through the port like it was a giant maze, asking out loud for Fritz, who should be nearby

Z23 kept following him like a dog, mainly just trying to ensure that he doesn't get himself KILLED.

Daniel was obviously new here, and the last thing he needed was to make a scene in front of one of the admiralty, or worse, the Commander...

"Fritz!... Fritz is that you?!" Daniel shouted at the top of his lungs

"Who's Fritz??" Z23 asked

"He's my friend! We go to school together!" Daniel said.

"School?"

"Yes, we go to the same school and I haven't seen him since I got transported to this ridiculous place!" Daniel said.
