ONE MONTH HAD passed since she had gone to South Korea and saw BTS in concert. One month of pain, heartache, and sorrow.

The moment she returned; her family demanded to know everything. They were disappointed she hadn't met her soul mate—still unaware of what actually happened. Keeping up the ruse proved harder than she thought because her family noticed she wasn't listening to BTS.

One week ago, Madeline started college in Minnesota. Her family insisted she stays close to them because they were worried about what would happen if she was far away and alone. Madeline didn't really care where she studied. All she cared about was her course—Art.

Art was one of the few things that brought her peace. She wasn't the best at it but she loved it nonetheless.

Her dorm mate was called Billie and despite studying accounting, she was lively and fun. She partied a lot and was determined to get Madeline out of their shared room. At times Madeline found her annoying, but she also appreciated her determination to be her friend. Madeline was ashamed of being an introvert but at times, she did wish she had more friends.

Freya was the best kind of her friend she could have but she was often busy with work or Della.

The third week into college, Billie invited her to a party. Madeline vocalized her distaste for events such as that but Billie wasn't having it. That was how Madeline found herself dressed in a crop top and skirt at a frat house.

Her nose wrinkled in disgust as she examined the beer bottles littered around the kitchen and the puke in the sink. Billie had gone to the toilet, leaving her alone.

The booming music could be heard from miles away. It caused her ears to ring and her head to hurt. Madeline had refused the alcoholic drinks offered, opting to remain sober. Billie, on the other hand, had downed four drinks and had more shots than Madeline could count.
