Chapter 27

A new week had started ever since that day. Diamond expected Liam to act differently around her after what happened but Liam didn't change. He was still the same caring person Diamond had grown fond of. In fact, the only thing that had changed was the fact that Liam had become more openly affectionate with Diamond. Clingy too but Diamond liked it more than she let on.

Tuesday had arrived and Liam was spending yet another evening at the office. In order to be a good wife, and support her husband, Diamond decided to cook him another meal.

After wrapping and packing up everything, Diamond swiftly makes her way to the office. Upon arriving she makes her way upstairs to Liam's office. Knocking at the door, Diamond patiently waits for his answer.

Only there wasn't one. Preparing to knock again, Diamond is startled when the door aggressively opens and Liam grabs her and drags her into his office.

"Hey-" Before she could finish her greeting Liam wraps his arms around her.

"I had a feeling you were going to come," He mumbles tightening the hug.

"Well, you were right. I'm here." Diamond responds addressing his back.

"Thank goodness."

"Tough day?"

"The project is practically done but that means more work for me. I have to make sure everything is perfect before the launch."

"Everything will be perfect Liam, don't worry."

After their rather long hug session had ended, Diamond leads her husband back to his desk.

"I bought food," Diamond announces, stating the obvious as she unpacked the freshly cooked food.

"Thank you for the meal," Liam says before eating.

"For the launch comes an event. My wife needs to be there."

"Obviously," Diamond responds smiling. "Of course, I'll be there. I need to see what has been making you stay this late at work."

"That gives me even more pressure to perfect this thing."

"You'll be fine Liam. I'm sure I'll love it anyways."

Twenty minutes pass of small talk between the couple as Liam finishes his meal. Upon finishing, Diamond decides it's time for her to go so that her husband goes back to concentrating.

"Liam let me go." Diamond huffs trying to push Liam off her.

Liam, who was currently going through his clingy phase, didn't want to let her go. Something about Diamond always being by her side made him feel at ease.

"You need to work you know?" Diamond tries to reason after realizing Liam was not going to move.

"As much as I would like to continue hugging you, you need to-"

Before she could finish her sentence Liam crushes his lips onto Diamond's shutting her up completely.

Oh wow.

The two continue kissing as Diamond continued moving even closer (as close as humanely possible) to him.

The two were in their zone until a knock interrupted them. Diamond quickly pushes herself off her husband whilst Liam was incredibly annoyed by the person who knocked.

"Sir, the project is ready for your review." A woman announces.

"Oh that's right I saw other people working here. Their doing overtime too?"

Liam nods at his wife. "I'll be there soon."

The woman does a single door and shuts the door after her.

"I'm going now," Diamond says picking up her bag filled with now empty dishes.

She turns around to face her husband who seems to be sulking. Diamond tried to hide her smile as she approaches her sad husband.

"I'll see you later." She mumbles and places a kiss on his lips.

Liam attempts to hide the smile forming on his face but fails miserably.

"Bye Diamond."

"Hi, mom!" Diamond greet cheerily on her phone.

"Hello Diamond. How have you been dear?"

"I'm great mom. How are you?"

"I'm doing fine my dear, just missing my daughter."

"I'll come visit this weekend. I was planning to anyway."

Diamond smiles as she hear mom chuckle. "Will Liam come with you?"

"Yes."

He won't leave me alone anyways.

"Then I shall prepare a nice dinner for the both of you."

"I would like that, Mom, thank you!"

"See you Saturday dear."

"Bye, mom!"

The call disconnects as Diamond continues smiling at her phone. Her mom was always so cute.

My sister introduced Bruno Mars to me when I was still a baby, so I grew up with him (ha)
