Chapter 30

The car comes to a halt signifying their arrival. The party was being held at one of the main hotels of Euphoric Empire. Their biggest conference room, is where the event was being held.

The door is opened from outside and Liam is first to step out. Flashes from cameras nearly blind him as paparazzi tries their best to get a close up shot of the handsome businessman. Diamond steps out of the car, and happily accepts Liam's hand that was waiting for her. The driver re-enters the car and drives off leaving Diamond and Liam in a pack of flashing cameras.

Thankfully, security is quick to come around to assist the couple from walking past the reporters without being bothered too much.

"I didn't realize how big of an event this was." Diamond comments, once they reached inside.

"This project is one of our biggest yet. We need as much publicity as we can get." Liam responds, leading his wife by her waist to the correct room.

Diamond let's out a soft gasp as she faces a gorgeous stairwell leading up to the conference room. Flowers were decorated around it, with a long red carpet covering the tiled stairs.

"Come on." Liam guides.

The two arrive at the doorway to which the MC announces their arrival. More reporters swarm around them as a barrier was prevented them to walk closer to them. The couple walks confidently as the series of bright flashes practically blinded them.

"There you are!" A male voice exclaims, rushing towards the two.

"Chris." Liam greats, an easy smile on his face.

"You're just on time!" He beams. "Hello Diamond!"

"Hi!" Diamond greets back, matching his energy.

Chris is practically Liam's right hand man as he has been working for him for a long time. The two met in Business School and they had been inseparable ever since. Chris was also present at their wedding but is not aware of the details surrounding their marriage.

"Oh I think I see Aya! I'll be back soon Liam."

Liam nods and Diamond walks to her friend who happily hugs her.

"You looks amazing babe!" Aya compliments.

"Thank you! You too."

Aya flicks her hair. "Well I try."

A waiter walks past, his tray filled with flutes of champagne. Taking two for the both of them, Aya and Diamond go stand around a table where there were several delicacies presented.

"Oh, this sausage is delicious. Try it!"

Diamond takes a bite of her own plate and her eyes widen at the flavors bursting in her mouth. Usually food made for business functions tasted like paper, yet this, this tasted great.

"Oh there you are Diamond." Chris says coming to stand next to her.

"These sausages are delicious. Did your kitchen make this?"

Chris nods proudly. "The head chef runs a very successful Jamaican restaurant known for its good food."

"Well that chef knows how to cook!" Aya says, taking another one.

"Actually Diamond, you're needed."

Diamond stares at Chris before putting down her plate.

"Does Liam need something?"

"He needs his wife. He's doing rounds meeting all the important guests and since you two are married, this is the chance for you to become acquainted with them."
