She woke up from slumber to find herself beside him. Her hand over his bicep. It took her a few minutes to be fully awake and when she was, she quickly withdrew her hand. She thanked her stars that today he didn't wake up before her. He didn't say anything for the first time but he would have surely embarrassed her this time.

Meera made her way to the balcony, seeking solace in the soft morning breeze. The fragrant scent of roses filled the air, giving her a renewed sense of freshness and energy. As she peered down at the garden with roses of every color, she was reminded of her impending exploration of the mansion.

Watering the plants on the balcony, Meera decided it was time to get ready for the day. The early hour allowed her the luxury of taking her time. She didn't get much sleep. She was anxious, for what she didn't know.

Wrapped in an amber yellow saree with tiny golden dot patterns, Meera emerged from the washroom. Glancing at Rayaan still sleeping peacefully, she breathed a sigh of relief.

"You are sleeping, right? " She asked and even after a minute when he didn't reply, she smiled to herself.

Brushing her brown locks, she tied them loosely with a clutch.

Her hands moved to different products to set up her make-up base. She kept on reading their labels whenever she chose one product but still had difficulty identifying the products, This is exactly what happens when you learn to apply makeup just one month before your marriage, and that too from your friend who herself is a big zero in the name of makeup.

Well, Thanks to her mother who helped her to learn to apply minimal makeup. For her, it was no less than any achievement.

The gloss almost dropped her hand when she remembered,

Her friends!

Her freaking friends!!!

She didn't meet them at her departure. She was busy crying and meeting her family members.

She needs to call them today. She quickly opened her phone and set the caller app, and then shut the phone again. This will remind her to call when she will pick up the phone later.

She applied her lip gloss and gave herself an appreciative look.

Taking the waist chain, she caressed it with love. She loves waist chains but never got to wear them. And this one is her favorite, it was her Mother's. She once saw her mother wearing it and she looked absolutely beautiful in it. When her mother noticed her heart eyes looking at her waist chain, she gifted it to Meera after slight modifications.

To say the least, she was elated. Among, all types of gold and Diamond pieces of jewelry, this little silver piece of jewelry is precious to her.

Clasping the anklets, Meera twirled around, enjoying the tinkling sound they created.

And then came her favorite part, perfumes!

She chose a slight blue see-through bottle and applied a generous amount of it, spraying throughout her body giggling happily.

She smiled at her reflection and then took her phone, surfing through it. Waiting for her husband to wake up.

Sitting on the couch she checked her emails and messages. She went through all of them. In case, she was missing out on anything important.

From the corner of her eyes, she saw him stirring in his sleep. Moments later stretching his arms, he sat up on the bed. He passed her a friendly smile, wishing her a "Good Morning! " And she nodded back with a small smile.

Take it till the time you are getting it. She muttered under her breath as soon as he got inside the washroom to freshen up.

Lost in her phone, Meera jumped when a call from her best friend, Vidhusi, illuminated the screen, surprised she immediately answered back.

Her mood automatically lifted listening to her friend. Her best friend is an inseparable part of her. They are friends from their high school. Both of them majored in different subjects and different colleges but there was no crack in their friendship.

By the time, she was done receiving her share of scolding from her for not even meeting her the last time before going, Rayaan emerged from the washroom dressed in a white shirt and navy blue pants. The sleeves rolled up to his elbow. He ruffled his wet hair with his fingers. As he reached for his cologne, his eyes met Meera's reflection in the mirror and a mischievous smirk formed on his lips. He looked between the Royal green bottle and Meera, mimicking her routine, he playfully applied the fragrance all over his body.

Meera's jaw hung open looking at him, she quickly averted her gaze. Her cheeks puffed up in her anger. She knew he would definitely make fun of her.

So he hasn't forgotten the previous day.

Rayaan smiled at her and applied the cologne on the sides of his neck and wrist.

Meera was trying to calm down when she inhaled an intoxicating fragrance. She closed her eyes feeling it as the alluring aroma grew stronger. She felt something warm fanning near her ears.

"Let's Go" She heard his voice before her eyes opened in an instant. She came face to face with him. The phone in her hands slipped to her lap as she gazed back into his eyes right before hers. He was standing 2 feet away leaning his face towards her.

She was flustered with unexpected moment.

"Y... Y... Yeah! " Her words stumbled rolling out her tongue.

He slid a stray strand of her hair behind her ear making her gulp, "After You" He whispered.

His throat vibrated with each word. Meera's eyes couldn't help but catch a glimpse of his chiseled chest through the two buttons left open on his shirt

Suddenly she felt that her ability to form words was snatched away. She was feeling hot and it seemed like all the hotness of her body was showing on her puffed-up cheeks. Her heart fluttered while her mind felt dizzy as he kept leaning toward her drowning his eyes into her brown eyes. She quickly averted her eyes, cheeks reddening as she tried to regain her composure

She stood up in urgency and almost ran out of the room.

Rayaan couldn't help but chuckle at her retreating figure.

Meera leaned to the wall outside catching her breath. Remembering his smirk, she was confused about who was scarier, him or the ghost?

She hurriedly tried to make her way downstairs before he reached up to her again. As soon as she held her saree plates, A hand came to help her. Without even looking at him, she knew who it was. She kept her other hand in his, not meeting his eyes. While he held her hand firmly in his grip, helping her.
