Chapter sixty-eight

Charles's pov:

August 2023

Time had come, I was back to work whilst Olivia was home with the twins. It was hard leaving them at home, but she assured me that she's fine and of course I also know she can handle this, plus my mom will check in with her a few times.

It was Friday today and I had just arrived at the Zandvoort track in the Netherlands. It was really great being back after the craziest summer break, and the most life changing summer break I've ever had. - I got out of my car and walked towards the paddock entrance. I greeted lots of fans before scanning my access card, walked down the large paddock and found my way to the ferrari hospitality. - I walked inside and greeted a few people from the team, then I found my way to my drivers room quickly. I checked in with Olivia before I did anything else.

"Hello love, how are you doing?" I asked as she picked up the phone. "Hey babe, I'm good. Matheo and Elena are sleeping so I'm trying to work a bit again, whilst I have the time" she said. "That's great, anything special planned for today?" I asked. "Nah just have to make a campaign, and then I have lunch plans with you mom, whilst we watch practice" she said, it made me so happy that my mother and Olivia share such a great bond, that they'll have lunch together and watch my practices..

"Aw that's wonderful, please say hi to my mother and give the twins a big kiss from me when they wake up" I answered. "I definitely will, it was great talking to you babe but I think you should head out and be ready to nail the practices" she said. "You're right, I love you. I'll call you later when I get back to the hotel".. "okay then, love you too, and good luck" she said, I thanked her and then we said our goodbyes before I left my drivers room.

"Hey mate, how's Olivia and the twins?" Carlos asked as he walked up to me from behind. "Hey, they're great! I miss them so much, but it's great being back as well" I answered. "I figured, I really need to meet those two little ones soon!" He said and I agreed. Not many drivers had gotten the chance to meet Matheo and Elena yet, since they're only about two weeks old and only a few others live in Monaco.. "yeah you and Isa should definitely meet them soon, once Olivia is stable enough to travel and the twins are a few weeks older they'll be here" I answered. Olivia isn't ready to travel yet, and probably won't be for about three to four weeks more, she just been through a  surgery and she just had twins so she needs lots of time to recover and rest, plus we want the twins to be at least one or maybe two months before taking them on a plane to another country..

"Sounds like a plan, I'm really looking forward to it.. how is dad life going then?" he smiled. "It's perfect, it's crazy how two tiny little humans can change your life so much, it's like nothing else matters anymore as long as I have them and Olivia. Just wait till you have kids someday, it'll be such a wonderful feeling" I answered and smiled, thinking of how happy I am right now. "I could imagine, I can't wait to have kids someday! I'm so ready to start our family, but Isa isn't convinced she'd be ready right now" Carlos answered.. "I didn't think I was ready either, when we found out I was so happy but as closer we got I was scared to death and didn't think I was ready, but now they're here I can't imagine not having them" I smiled and so did he.. " yeah, we'll just take things as it comes I guess. But how adorable wouldn't it be if our kids could be friends" he laughed. "It would be the cutest! Please change Isas mind" I laughed, just thinking about a little Carlos or a little Isa running around with Matheo and Elena, that would be the cutest thing ever..

After talking a bit with Carlos we both went to a team meeting, which was a bit boring but it was fine, it had to be done. Afterwards I had some interviews with a few different people, and then I also trained a bit with Andrea.. then it was time for the first practice of the race week.. I took my helmet on and jumped into the car, then I waited a bit before I drove out to do some laps around the track.
