Forever and always

Chapter seventy-four

Olivia's pov:
March 2024

We had just landed in Melbourne, Australia after the longest three flights ever, we decided to have two layovers, one in Dubai and one in Singapore, just to make the trip with the kids easier. But it felt wonderful to finally be here again.

We had arrived in the big house we had rented while staying here, it was a bit outside Melbourne, but it had a backyard with a barbecue area and a pool, so our time here will be just perfect. Daniel, his parents, Kelly and Max are also coming to stay here since the house is big enough for all of us. I'm really excited for this week and a half. We'll be staying here, we will make a lot of amazing memories and of course watch the race on the weekend.

The first day went by fast and the next day, which was Tuesday, the others came. First was Max and Kelly, then Daniel and lastly his parents who I love so much, they're practically my second parents, to be honest Grace is more motherly than my own mother. I can't wait for them to meet our kids, who they'd never met before.

"Hii you two, it's been a long time" I said as I saw Grace and Joe stepping into the house. "Hi sweetheart, how are you doing?" Grace smiled and pulled me into a hug. "I'm doing wonderful, never been better" I said and smiled. "That's good to hear! you do look better than last time" Joe said and also pulled me into a hug. "I am, otherwise I'll just blame the kids for making me look tired or so" I laughed. "Oh yes, let me see those beautiful babies! Daniel told us wonderful things about them" Grace said and seemed all excited. "He'd better, they're in here with the others" I smiled and then we walked further into the house.
Kelly and Max were sitting on the floor playing with them, it looked absolutely adorable. - The others greeted Joe and Grace and then it was time for them to meet the twins.

"So this is Elena, she is very calm and a true copy of her dad" I smiled and handed Elena to Grace. "And this is Matheo, he's a good mix of both of us" I said and handed him to Joe. "But mostly like Olivia" Charles said. "Yeah you're probably right" I laughed. "From what I can tell he's the more aggressive one, so that makes sense why he's more like Oli. He has gotten the awesome Verstappen gene" Max laughed and so did the others. "That's true, but please it's not like the Leclerc genes are all calm and positive" I laughed. "Compared to yours, we are very calm" Charles said and looked at me. "Okay then, you're right" I said and rolled my eyes sarcastically.. - "They're really beautiful, you two can be so proud of them" Joe said as they had been sitting with the twins for a little while, both were awake and smiled a lot. "I agree, I know they will turn into two wonderful people! And with you two as their parents they are the luckiest" Grace smiled as Elena grabbed her finger with her little hand. "Thank you, it really means a lot" I smiled and so did Charles who agreed.

We had been sitting talking back and forth a bit, until we decided to hit the pool. It was really hot, the sun was burning today. We all changed into swim clothes and then got in, the cold but still warm water felt amazing on our skin, we swam around and had lots of fun. The twins tried to be inside a pool for the first time ever, and they seemed to love it. They laughed and smiled the whole time being inside, which was wonderful to see, nothing is better than seeing your kids happy and laughing. - After a while I got up and so did Kelly, we laid on the sunbeds to dry off and get some tan. We were both sitting with one twin each since they shouldn't been in the pool for such a long time at once.
"God I miss this baby stage, they're just the cutest" Kelly smiled while she was sitting with Matheo. "They are, and they are already getting so big, I wish they would stay so little forever" I smiled. "I know, but the age Penelope is now is wonderful, she has grown into her own person with her own personality.. but I do miss the times with a little baby" she answered.. "Have you and Max had the talk yet? I know he wants kids someday, and you can't deny it, he's wonderful with kids. You have seen him with Penelope, but also with Matheo, Elena, Luka and Lio" .. "He is for sure the best, and he will be the best dad, he already is the best stepdad for P.. But yeah we have had the talk and we do wanna have a kid someday, I'm just not sure he wants one when his career is on the highest".. "He will probably say he isn't ready, just like Charles did. But when the twins were born he changed completely and now he can't imagine a life without them.. I guess we're never fully ready to have kids until it actually happens" I smiled. "That's true, when I found out I was pregnant with P, I was so scared and I was far from ready, but she is my little miracle and my biggest blessing in life, so yeah maybe within the next few years we will have a little one" she smiled.. We talked for a while about kids, I would be so happy for Max and Kelly if they decided to have a little one, and I would love to be an aunt to another beautiful child.
