"I found a duckling." Rowan announced.

I looked up from my bed. I decided to skip school today since I can, but as a deal, Silas says I have to do some self-study.

I was currently lying on my stomach, my legs swinging in the air as I tapped my pencil on my chin thoughtfully.

Until Rowan burst into my room without knocking.

"Good for you." I told him.

"No, seriously, I found a baby duck." he looked to his feet.

I gaped when a little furball with two legs appeared. . "You're joking."

I rolled off my bed and dashed to meet his duckling.

I held it up to my eye level. "Why does it look dead?"

"Because it's life is not at risk yet, duh."

"Where'd you gonna keep it?"

"I'm gonna make a home for it." he shrugged. "Wanna help me build?"

Building something or finishing my homework. We don't have to think twice for that.

Happily, I followed Rowan into his room where a box of random stuff sat, awaiting to be built.

"I'll go get a bowl to put the duck in temporarily." my brother told me before running out of his room.

This dude should seriously clean his room sometimes.

I picked up his hoodie on the floor and threw it onto his bed. Then I sat down after clearing out a space for us.

"You are a dead duck, you know that?" I asked the dumb yellow thing.

He ignored me.

"How unlucky you are to catch Rowan's eyes."

Rowan appeared out of nowhere and smacked my head. "I heard that." he gave me a dead look.

"Sue me." I smiled.

"Okay. Anyway, let's make this shit."

An hour later, Rowan junior stared at us as we stared back at it.

We actually made it a home. Like a freaking maze for the duck where a club, bedroom, living room, school with a table and swimming pool are provided.

"He's so fugly." I decided.

"You're fugly." Rowan scowled.

"We should bring it to Stefano."

"Totally." he agreed. "Should we bring it to him at work?"

I looked at him.

He looked at me.

Twenty minutes later, we stood outside of Stefano's business building.

"This is not a good idea." Rowan told me.

I actually used my brain and thought about it for a moment. "No. I don't think it is."

"But it's gonna be fun."

"Really fun." I nodded. "Like an adventure."

"Let's do this."

I had no idea where we're going so I followed Rowan. He led me as though he knew where he was going.

I think I should start making a resume.

Stefano needs to hire me right now.

Just look at this place.

"Where are we going?" I asked Rowan as he nodded at the receptionist lady.
