"What are you doing?" Dorian prodded, quite loudly, leaning over Eleanor's shoulder.

The green-girl jumped; she had been flipping through a few different books, finding a quiet table in a small nook of the library(she had also dozed off a bit). Dorian waited impatiently, holding a book of his own.

"I don't need to explain myself to you," Eleanor stated dismissively, though she looked a bit shaken, turning back to her books and pushing her glasses back up her nose.

Dorian read over her shoulder, "'Visions, Omens of the Future, Translating Dreams'? What are you doing with all of this?" He asked accusingly.

"Again, I don't need to explain myself to you," Eleanor stated, a bit more angrily this time, glaring at Dorian with the same hatred
as the first time they met.

Dorian sat down in front of Eleanor despite knowing he wasn't welcome, setting down his book, putting the cover to the table. Eleanor looked up at him, seemingly deciding the best method of ripping him in two.

"Actually, as Ben's royal assistant and best friend, it is," Dorian stated with purpose, causing Eleanor to roll her eyes, "Is this some project for Madam Morrible's class?" He asked persistently, leaning on the table.

"I wouldn't carry out a project she assigned me," Eleanor said hotly, now avoiding eye contact with Dorian and staring down at her books.

"Why? She's just trying to help," Dorian said in a tone he thought of as reasonable.

"First off, she's not trying to help. Secondly, she knows nothing about my magic," Eleanor hissed at him, still staring down at her books, not actually taking in a word of them.

"And you do?" Dorian scoffed, leaning back in his seat with a skeptical expression, crossing his legs.

Eleanor huffed, slamming one of her books shut in a successful attempt to make Dorian jump.

Dorian stared at her, noticing she was very intent on staring at the floor, seemingly too annoyed to even look at him.

"You know, you could at least try to make friends here; all the other VK's can walk into a room without causing a waterfall of slightly fearful muttering." Dorian stated semi casually, trying to change the subject.

"I feel no need to start meaningless small talk with strangers," Eleanor stated, gathering her books, "Especially if they're anything like you."

Dorian hopped up after Eleanor, the brightly colored girl quickly scurrying away from him and his bruised ego(her back purposely turned to him to hide her silent laughter, pleased to have slightly ruined his afternoon).

"What's that supposed to mean?" Dorian questioned loudly, chasing after her, "Eleanor, what does that mean!"

"You missed lunch to get more books?" Gabriela questioned as Eleanor approached, her locker door hiding the answer.

The blonde only heard as Eleanor opened her own locker before hastily shut it again.

Gabriela peaked around at her, "Who said what?" She asked, knowing that Eleanor was tired and irritable by the look on her face.

Eleanor knew she had to tread carefully when talking about Dorian, as Gabriela was actively in a relationship with him. And, additionally, in her slightly insecure and anxious mind, if Gabriela had to choose, she'd pick Dorian.

"Hey, Eleanor!" Laney greeted suddenly, putting an arm over the girls shoulder.

Eleanor was too relieved at this action to flinch away, "Hello, Laney!" she responded, trying to match her enthusiasm.

"Who are you and what have you done with Ella?" Jay, who was at Laney's heals, joked-unoriginally, I might add-waving at Gabriela.

"A person trying to avoid my questions," Gabriela mumbled uncharacteristically, gingerly shutting her locker door.

Eleanor heard her remark, simply choosing to think nobody else did.

"Gabby, Dorian was looking for you-Jay, stop making that face." Laney stated, turning to her boyfriend at the end(Jay was in fact making a face at Dorian's name).

"Oh, thank goodness you reminded me! I almost forgot; he was helping me with my History of Magic essay," Gabriela said conversationally, snapping back to her preppy tone.

Eleanor flinched suddenly, causing Laney to move her arm in fear she might have offended her in some way.

"You could've asked me! I have an A on the subject and I'm working on the same thing," Eleanor hastily reminded her, trying not to be too loud.

"You were my first choice, it's just that you have other things going on." Gabriela explained, giving Eleanor a knowing look, "And Dorian took this class last year, he knows his stuff."

Jay bit the inside of his cheek, knowing how Gabriela's statement sounded to Eleanor; like an excuse. Eleanor would think Gabriela just wanted to hang out with Dorian instead.
Jay also hoped Gabriela was as well meaning as she appeared, and that Dorian wouldn't cause any trouble. He wasn't about to let Eleanor have her heart broken.

Not again.
