The Hybrid Effect (A Narry Hybrid AAU)

Chapter 33 - Gone.

Chapter 33

Harry walked into the building still carrying the air of bliss from earlier in the morning. That feeling however, was shot down as soon as he entered the building. He couldn't help but notice a redhead replacing Lindsey at her desk. He sent a nod at the new lady, Janice, before walking into the elevator.
 
   Harry pressed the button to the lab floor and waited patiently for the doors to open. Once they did he stepped through and was confused at all of the men inside of the lab. There was about four or five men in suits, among them he found a very nervous looking Ed.
   He sent a few nods their way, before walking over to Ed. "Hey Harry, these are some board members here to evaluate our progress with the hybrids." Ed explained, though it seemed like there was a meaning behind his words. Harry nodded, sending a smile their way, "well welcome then gentlemen."

The day proceeded as usual, the feeding, playing, and taking care of the hybrids. The hybrids, along with Harry and Ed all seemed to be on edge. I mean who wouldn't be with a couple of men in suits watching your every move.

Everything seemed to be going okay until they were getting the hybrids back inside from playing and Jasper, the usual quite, more feline like hybrid began to act difficult, not wanting to go inside of his cage.
  One of the board members tried to step in and Jasper lashed out, scratching him. Harry and Ed tried to calm him down but before they got a chance the same board member went up to Jasper and punched him, efficiently knocking him out.
This didn't sit well with Harry or Ed, but they tried to keep calm. Ed polietly asked them to remove the board member,  but you could hear the malice behind his words.

After that, they started getting all of the hybrids ready for bed. Once the they were done, the head of board members, Lucian, pulled Harry and Edward aside. "Thank you gentlemen for letting us evaluate you. Sorry about the uhm, incident. Vance will have your evaluation results in a few days." And with that, he left.
  Harry and Ed were more than relieved to have the men gone. "I hope Jasper is okay." Harry said, walking over to the cage to see him curled into a ball on the rug beside his bed. "That guy was an ass. He's lucky I didn't claw his eyes out." Ed said, his voice shaking slightly. Ed was never one to get mad, but the unnecessary violence towards Jasper just got his blood boiling.
  "Yeah, a real dick he was." Harry mumbled. After making sure everything was secure, Ed pulled Harry to the side. "Look Harry, the real reason those men were here was to evaluate our relationships with the hybrids. They know about Niall and Louis missing, and they suspect it was one of us. I won't say anything but you've got to be on edge Harry." Ed said, seriously.
  Harry nodded, "fuck." he mumbled. This is exactly what he didn't want to happen. He knew what he had to do. He would go home and pack, then he'd take Niall somewhere safe. He would bring Louis and everyone else too, just to keep them all safe. Harry couldn't let his friends get hurt tbecause of him. Above all, he couldn't let anyone take his Niall from him. He wouldn't. Harry said his goodbyes to Ed, before leaving the building.

He drove as quickly as he could, not wanting to waste any time. Once he got there, he said his usual hellos to the doorman and went up to his flat. once there, he felt his heart drop. The door to his flat was broken, and the place seemed to be trashed. Tables and chairs were flipped, drawers dumped out.
Harry looked around and Niall was nowhere to be found. He frantically pulled dot his phone and dialed Liam's number. Liam's phone went straight to voice mail, so he tried Leeroy's phone.
As the dial tone rang, Harry heard the faint sound of Leeroy's ringtone, and followed in until he reached the kitchen. He let out a gasp as he saw the sight of a bloodied Leeroy slumpted against the counter.
"Leeroy?" Harry said, rushing over to him. Leeroy lazily opened his eyes, "Harry." he said softly, groaning as he held his head, where a small gash was. "What happened?" Harry asked helping him up. "They took him Harry. I'm so sorry I tried to stop them." Leeroy sobbed, and only then did Harry realize that the only cut on Leeroy was on his head.
"Who took him? Lee, who took him, and why is there so much blood?" Harry asked, his voice cracking into a sob. "It's not mine, it's Niall's." Leeroy explained, his eyes full of tears.

meh. I'm really bad at action scenes but I needed something to make this story have more of a plot I guess? I don't know. oh well, I'll probably rewrite it when it's over.
