Chapter 4

"Morning," Harry said to his friends Zayn and Liam with a bright smile.
"Morning," Liam smiled as Zayn groaned. "How can you be so cheery at 7 am?" He muttered.
Harry shrugged and set two drinks from Starbucks on the table in the hotel dining room. "I have a secret," he winked.
"Oh Harry how could I live without you?" Liam sighed in relief, taking the beverage as Zayn reached for his, nodding in agreement.
Harry shrugged before drinking his own hot cup of tea.
"So how'd that job at VSC go?" Zayn said looking up at Harry. Setting his cup down he shrugged, "Well its interesting. The building for one is huge, securities pretty much a major priorities but I guess that's understanding with what they're working with.." he said biting his bottom lip.
"What exactly are they dealing with?" Liam asked, his eyebrows furrowing. Harry opened his mouth to speak before he was interrupted by a high pitched voice.
"HAROLD! So nice to see you, How've you been love?!"
Liam visibly stiffened as Leeroy strolled in, hugging Harry before taking a seat. "I'm good, How'er you Leeroy?," Harry replied politely.
"I am absolutely smashing! I made this new cake, oh you must try it! Ugh! Its so good I swear my tongue was tempted to drill a hole through the roof of my mouth and just slap my brain around a bit!" Leeroy rambled on, his eyes lighting up. Liam groaned and sent an apologetic glance at the boys before dragging a still rambling Leeroy into the kitchen.
This in turn caused Harry and Zayn to burst into laughter. Liam was the calm, cool twin where as Leeroy was the loud, quirky twin. Although Leeroy annoyed Liam, anyone could see that he cared for his brother and would give anyone who made fun of him Hell.
"Oi! Zayn c'mon! We've got to open to pool today!" Veronica, Zayns sister said as she stole his cup and began to drink it with a smirk.
Veronica, Zayn, Liam, and Leeroy had all become a sort of substitute family for Harry, but he didn't mind.
"Hey Haz," She greeted Harry with a hug."Morning V," he replied with a laugh as Zayn stole his cup back. "Aw C'mon Veronica! You got bloody lipstick all over it!" he whined as she dragged him out of the room to the pool.
Checking his watch, Harry began to head back to the lobby to head to work.
"Morning Mr.Styles," Charles smiled.
"Hey Charlie, can you get James to bring my car around, I've got to head out." Harry replied with a smile.
As Harry's black SUV pulled up, James hopped out and tossed Harry his keys. "Thanks James!" Harry said, handing him a very generous tip, as usual before climbing into his car.
As Harry walked into VSC he greeted Lindsey with a curt nod and a goodmorning. After scanning his card for the elevator, he stepped in, pressing the Basement Floor button.
"Morning Ed!," Harry said cheerily greating the flame haired man. "G'Mornin," Ed nodded with a smile after he finished flipping the pancakes on the stove by the sink.
"Breakfast Time for the hybrids," he explained as Harry eyed him. "Would you mind getting the cart by the door and the milk in the fridge?" he asked pointing.
After grabbing the cart and the milk, Harry helped Ed fill each bowl of milk and finish fixing each plate. They rolled the cart over to the first cage where a name tag hung.
"Lilly," Ed cooed, opening the cage and walking in with a plate of food as Harry followed in suit, holding a bowl of milk. "Now you feed them two times a day, Morning and Nighttime." Ed said, setting a plate down on a small table.(Each cage contained a small mattress, small table, and a small bathroom.)
A small, seven year old looking girl poked her head out from under the bed, smiling as soon as she saw Ed. "Hello there," he smiled before gesturing to Harry. "This is Harry, he's come to play with you for awhile so eat up then when everyone's done we'll go out to the garden." Ed explained as the small hybrid girl nodded before sitting at the table, beginning to eat.
After they walked out of the cage Ed explained to Harry that even though the boss didn't approve, he taught the hybrids how to eat at the table and use the bathroom properly. The only thing the boss forbid him to do was teach them to talk.
After feeding the rest of the hybrids, Harry began to understand what Ed ment by saying each hybrid was just as human as him. Each had different personalities, ranging from shy to friendly.
"Well Harry, you've learned how to feed them properly, now I've got to use the toilet so could you feed the last hybrid?" Ed asked with a smile.
"Sure," Harry smiled, secretly excited to get some one-on-one time with a hybrid."Now he's our newest and he's a bit timid so if he doesn't come out until after you leave the cage, don't feel offended."
Harry nodded and rolled the cart to the last cage at the end of the row. He sighed, opening the cage and walking in setting down the plate of food. He walked back to the cart, grabbing the bowl of milk before opening the cage door. Before he walked in, he read the name plate as he shut the door.
"Niall?" Harry called out softly, setting the cup of milk down. The only response he got was a small 'Meow' coming from under the bed. He sighed, assuming the hybrid would stay under until he left.
"Okay well, er there's food on the table and when your done everyone's going to go play in the garden, so er.. eat up!" he said softly.
As he turned around to exit, he heard a small shuffling sound. Peeking behind him he saw a blondish-brown haired boy about his age peeking out at him.
Harry gasped slightly, not because the boy was extremely beautiful.. but his eyes were the color of the sea, with a golden tint lining them. But that wasn't all, they seemed to glow ever so slightly.
He'd never seen anything so beautiful. But something was off about him, his blue eyes were filled with what seemed like sadness. And at that moment, Harry vowed to one day make him smile.
