Philip gave the security officers strict instructions to never allow Adrienne inside the building again, and to call the authorities if they ever saw her anywhere near the company's premises. He made it clear that she was not welcomed there, and that she would face serious consequences if she tried to enter the building again.

The staff of Ebon Enterprises watched the scene play out in silence. They were all familiar with Adrienne and her habit of coming to the company and hanging around their boss, Mr. Gunther Reichenstein. They had all assumed she was his fiancée, but now it seemed clear that she was simply a nuisance who was trying to impose herself on him.

They all began to talk among themselves, asking questions and speculating about what had happened. Some of them laughed at Adrienne's misfortune, but others felt sorry for her. Even though her behavior had been questionable, they didn't think she deserved to be treated in such a cruel and humiliating way.

As the staff gossiped and speculated, the subject of their gossip, Gunther, emerged from the elevator. His eyes were cold and his gaze steely, and everyone scurried back to their stations, fearful of his reaction. They all knew how he detested laziness and tardiness, and they didn't want to risk his wrath. The office was once again silent and orderly, as if the chaotic scene from the moments ago had never happened.

As Gunther turned to leave the building, he stopped and glanced at two women huddled in the corner, deep in gossip about him. The front-desk manager rushed to Gunther's side, be smile unwavering even when he didn't return her greeting or smile. After all, he was her boss. Her back was straight and her chin was held high, her sleek office bun giving her an air of professionalism. She stood patiently, waiting for his orders.

With eyes like chips of ice, he said, "Give them their termination letter and severance pay." He slipped his hand into his pocket and adjusted his suit jacket with the other. Without another word, he turned and left. His long legs are up the distance between him and stunned employees, who could only watch him walk away. His entire demeanor screamed power and control, leaving no doubts as to who was in charge.

As she drove, Adrienne moaned in pain, her body contorted into an awkward position. She gripped the steering wheel with white knuckles, her eyes steely as she stared ahead. A madness seethed within her, and it was reflected in her wild gaze. She pulled into the hospital parking lot and staggering out of the car, looking like she was drunk. But the only thing that had intoxicated was the intense, all consuming pain and anger.

After the doctor ordered an x-ray, Adrienne was taken to an executive ward and given anesthesia. She called Giselle, her voice breaking as she tearfully told her what had happened. Giselle's soothing voice helped to calm right away.

As Adrienne lay in her hospital bed, she idly scrolled through her socila media feeds. Smile crossed her face as praise and encouragement flooded her mentions. Then, the doctor entered the room, a folder of medical records in hand. He smiled at her and asked how she was feeling. In a calm voice, she replied that she was doing well.

Before the doctor could say a word, Adrienne cut him off. "I'm not interested in hearing your report, doctor. I know my accident was serious, and I want you to understand that. Are we clear?" Her blonde hair tumbled around her shoulders as she tilted her head, her eyes fixing him with an unwavering gaze, as though she could see into his very thoughts.

"I do," the doctor replied with a smile, but his eyes gave away his true intentions. He wasn't there to help Adrienne, he was there to line his own pockets. Adrienne's smile didn't reach her eyes, her gaze piercing and unimpressed. She saw right through his facade and knew what he was really after.

"Just a moment, Miss," the doctor said, flashing a smile as he left the room. Once he was safely out of earshot, he let out a triumphant fist pump and did a little dance. He felt like he'd hit the jackpot! Finally, some easy money- and from a rich patient, no less!

Adrienne spent her days in the hospital ward, trying to stomach the bland, inedible food. She eventually called her personal assistant to bring her some decent food, unable to stomach the slop that passed for hospital meals. Days went by, but Giselle never showed up. Adrienne's anger simmered under the surface, but she had to stay in the hospital until she was discharged. Her frustration and impatience grew with every passing hour.

As Adrienne cursed Giselle under her breath, the devil herself waltzed into the room. Giselle was wearing a pair of sunglasses and carrying a basket of fruits, an incongruous sight against the sterile hospital room. Adrienne's facade quickly came up, and she burst into tears, sobbing uncontrollably. It was a far cry from the poised and elegant woman she had been before.
