"Stephlon, we're going to be late!" Maltida called from down the stairs, her  patience wearing thin. She knew her friend was a perfectionist when it came to her appearance, but she couldn't help but feel annoyed at the long wait. Though she loved Stephlon dearly, sometimes her ethereal beauty came at the cost of punctuality.

"I'm on my way," Stephlon called from the doorway, peering down at a clearly agitated Maltida fuming at the bottom of the stairs. She quickly ducked back into her room, smoothing out her washed-out boyfriend jeans and black crop top. Her eyes were bright and gleaming, her smile captivating and enthralling yet behind those beautiful beads of white and brown, there was a hollow emptiness lurking behind, an unsettling contrast to her cheerful demeanor.

"Alright, let's get the cake!" Maltida directed as she grabbed the wine bottle, while Stephlon followed her lead and grabbed the cake, their actions in perfect sync as they moved through the kitchen. They both emerged from the house with their spoils in hand, getting into Maltida's car with matching smiles on their faces. It was as if they were one mind, moving in Harmon and understanding each other's thoughts without saying a word.

As they drive through the countryside, they laughed and joked about the ups and downs of the life, sharing everything from the most miserable moments to the most beautiful ones. The sun shone brightly, its golden rays touching everything they passed and imbuing it with a sense of peace and serenity. The wind blew softly, whispering in their ears like a gentle lullaby, while the birds sang sweetly in the trees overhead.

As they neared Josh's house, Maltida's palms were sweaty and clammy despite her best efforts to dry them off. Her eyebrows knitted together as she tried to stay calm, but her racing heart and quickened breath betrayed her. On one hand, she felt a rush if excitement at the prospect of seeing his surprised face at their arrival and surprise she had for him. On the other hand, she was nervous about what might happen next. The future was uncertain, and the thought made her anxious.

"Okay, I'll head over and you will follow in five minutes," Maltida said, taking a deep breath to steady her nerves. Though she felt butterflies fluttering in her stomach, her face was lit up with a bright smile that couldn't be hidden. Her dark hair was pulled into a messy bun, and her beautiful eyes sparkled with a mix of anxiety and excitement. There was something radiant about her, a feeling of joy and light that seemed to emanate from her very being.

"I know, Maltida," Stephlon said with a gentle smile, taking her friend's sweaty hands in her own and rubbing her thumb soothingly across the back of her hand. She understood how anxious Maltida was, having heard her express her worries countless times. But Stephlon was there for her, ready to offer whatever support she needed.

"Okay," Maltida said, exhaling a shaky breath as she picked up the cake and wine bottle, her smile fixed in place as if to hide her anxiety. But Stephlon's encouraging nod gave her the courage she needed, and she stepped out of the car with a purposeful stride, refusing to look back. Though her less shook and hr heart pounded in her chest, her back was straight and her posture perfect.she was anxious, but she was still resolute.

Stephlon sat in the car and watched as the car passed by slowly, her golden-brown curls swayed in the cool breeze her eyes looking straight ahead with no emotion in her face. Her eyes seemed to stare hardly at something far away. She sat lost in her thoughts watching as the time passes by slowly. Once it hit exactly five minutes after, she got out of the car and walked towards the house.

Stephlon sat motionless in the car, her gaze fixed on a point far in the distance, her eyes unblinking and unreadable. She seemed to be in a state of numbness, lost in her own thoughts and disconnected from the world around her. The minutes passed by in small steps, and it wasn't until two minutes had passed that she finally blinked and returned to the present. She took few minutes to clear her mind and center herself, pushing away her thoughts and feelings. With a new sense of calm, she got out of the car and walked towards the house.
