After eating, Stephlon an Maltida went their separate ways, both heading to their respective rooms. The house was silent, the only sound was rain pounding against the windows and roof. Maltida shut the door behind her, and as soon as she was alone, she sank to the floor, the tears flowing freely. They were hot, burning trails down her cheeks, the pain in her heart as fresh and raw as ever. She couldn't stop herself from crying, the sobs wracking her body.

Sitting on the floor, Maltida felt her heart breaking all over again. Her hair was disheveled, black strands in messy waves around her shoulders. Her eyes were red and puffy, her face flushed from all the tears she had cried. She felt the pain in every inch of her body, the ache so intense it took her breath away. She felt like she was drowning in her own sadness, the emotion suffocating her, leaving her gasping for air.

Slowly, she pushed herself to her feet, her body protesting every movement. Her legs felt like lead, barely able to support her weight. She made her way to the bathroom, her hand against the wall for support. She stripped off her clothes and turned on the water, the spray cascading down on her exhausted body. She could feel the headache beginning to pound in head, a throbbing, unrelenting pain. She made a mental note to take a painkiller before she went to bed, hoping it would be enough to dull the ache.

After her shower, Maltida changed into her softest, most comfortable clothes and took a couple of painkillers, washing them down with a glass of water from the beside table. She climbed into bed, her bones heavy and aching with exhaustion. There were no more tears left to cry, although her cheeks were dry but her burning eyes was an evidence of her earlier tears. Her head throbbed relentlessly, and she felt completely drained, both physically and emotionally. All she wanted was to sleep and forget, at least for a little while.

A few minutes later, there was the sound of the door opening, followed by the soft rustle of snacks and junk food. Stephlon walked into the room, balancing a mountain of goodies in her hands. She dropped them on the bed and went back for more, not even stopping to take a breath. Maltida, who had been lying on the bed, sat up and turned to look at Stephlon, her eyes wide with confusion. The door closed behind Stephlon as she went to retrieve the rest of her haul.

Stephlon finally returned, her arms laden with bags of snacks and treats. She grinned as she held them up, wiggling her eyebrows playfully. Her smile was contagious, and Maltida found herself returning it, her own lips curved upwards. Maltida patted the space on the bed next to her, an invitation for Stephlon to join her. She leaned back against the headboard, waiting for her friend to settle in beside her.

Stephlon bounded onto the bed, perching herself next to Maltida with an eager grin. She spent a few moments arranging the snacks into an artful display, her movements quick and practiced. Once everything was in its proper place, she leaned back, looking over at Maltida. Maltida handed her the TV remote, which Stephlon took with a nod of thanks. Without missing a beat, she turned on the TV and selected the show the were going to binge-watch.

"We watching friends?" Maltida asked, a handful of popcorn stuffed in her mouth. She looked at Stephlon, her eyes bright with anticipation, a far cry from the despondent look that had been on her face moments before. Stephlon smiled and gave a nod of agreement, eager to spend the rest of the night watching their favourite show and enjoying the company of her best friend.

Hours passed as they sag on the bed, watching episode after episode, engrossed in the drama unfolding on the screen. They snacked on cake and variety of snacks, completely absorbed in the world of Friends. As the evening became night, the room grew darker, the only light coming from the television. Outside, the rain continued to fall, the lightening flashing through the window. Inside, it was a world away, the two friends lost in a cocoon of laughter and drama.

In the middle of the Friends marathon, the girls suddenly broke into a pillow fight. The hit each other with the pillows, laughing uncontrollably as feathers flew through the air. The fighting soon turned into a tickle war, the girls squirming and giggling. Eventually, the collapsed onto the bed, exhausted but happy. They lay there, arms around each other, smiling like idiots. The had never felt so content.

"We should go out tomorrow," Maltida said sleepily, her eyes beginning to close.
"Yeah," Stephlon replied with a yawn, her own eyes growing heavy. In the room, it was peaceful and warm, the perfect place to sleep. But outside, the storms raged on, lightning flashing and thunder booming. It was a stark contrast to the tranquility inside, but it didn't matter. The girls were safe and sound, wrapped in the comfort of each other's company.
