Stephlon gave Gunther a tender kiss on the cheek before bidding him farewell, leaving him in a state of melancholy even though he had an urgent meeting with his board of directors. Despite this, Stephlon felt a sense of contentment even as Adrienne had returned to their lives, she knew Gunther would continue to support her.

As Stephlon entered her office, she was greeted by an atmosphere that perfectly mirrored her warm and inviting personality. The walls of her office were painted a comforting shade of brown, creating a cozy ambiance. Her desk set was also composed of rich brown tones, exuding a sense of elegance. Sitting proudly at the center was a charming pot of flowers, adding a touch of nature to the space. The room was bathed in warm sunlight that streamed through a large window, creating a serene and peaceful aura.

Lost in her work, Stephlon barely registered the soft knock at the door. With her head buried in a mountain of papers covering every inch of her desk, she gave permission for the person to enter without ever looking up.

Rebecca cautiously stepped into the room, a stack of papers clutched tightly against her chest. Stephlon let out a weary sigh and motioned for Rebecca to place the papers on the small section of the desk that she had managed to clear.

Rebecca chose to remain silent, leaving the room, understanding the importance of not disrupting her boss and the intense workload she had entrusted to her. As the minutes slipped by, time seemed to crawl, casting a shadow over the room. The dark cloud that had loomed above let out a tired yawn before unleashing a downpour of rain.

Unfazed by the thunder and lightning outside, Stephlon remained engrossed in her work, a steaming cup of tea keeping her company. Yet, her thoughts couldn't help but stray to the man several floors above, buried under the weight of his own tasks.

Gradually, her focus shifted from the immense workload at hand to Gunther, the man she never imagined herself reconciling with. Even during the years they spent apart, she had made countless attempts to banish him from her mind. Unfortunately, her feeble efforts had done little to quell the relentless beat of her heart, still longing for his presence.

The office door slowly creaked open, causing Stephlon to raise her head in a dazed manner. Louisa entered the room, carrying a tray of food. Despite her reluctance to admit it, Stephlon's stomach did a happy dance as the savory scent reached her nose.

"Come on now, clear that table," Louisa scowled, looking at a smiling Stephlon. Without paying much attention to proper arrangements, Stephlon quickly stacked all of the files and papers in a neat pile and tapped on the cleared space on the table, indicating that she was ready for the food.

"Can I have it now?" Stephlon asked eagerly, her eyes shifting between Louisa and the tantalizing food in her hands. Louisa simply rolled her eyes and placed the covered dish on the table, her hand still holding the cover in place.

"Here's your Mac n' cheese. I had Damino whip something up for you," she said, lifting the cover slightly to allow the steam and delicious aroma to escape. Stephlon's mouth watered, her impatience growing as she eagerly awaited her first bite.

"What is going on between you and Mr. Reichenstein?" Louisa stood with her arms folded across her chest, towering over Stephlon, who was caught off guard by the question. Her hand, just inches away from bringing the appetizing food to her mouth, froze in mid-air.

Without hesitation, Stephlon quickly shoved the food into her mouth, her eyes locked with Louisa's, who still awaited an answer. They engaged in a silent staring contest as Stephlon devoured her meal as if she had been starved for eternity.

"Did you really think I wouldn't find out?" Louisa scoffed, her eyes showing a mix of amusement and underlying annoyance. She had always believed that Stephlon could trust her with anything, yet she had to hear about this situation from someone else. As if she wasn't shocked enough, now Stephlon was acting as though she had no idea what Louisa was referring to.

"Louisa, it's complicated. I promise I will explain everything to you in due time," Stephlon sighed, setting her hands down and speaking in a soothing tone to the woman she knew was angry with her. She could sense that beneath Louisa's calm and collected exterior, her anger was simmering.

"Fine, and I want to know everything about it," Louisa stated sharply as she pointed her finger at the petite woman who sat there, looking as adorable as ever. After making her statement, she turned on her heel and confidently walked out the door, exuding sass with every step.

Stephlon couldn't help but smile as she buried her head in her meal, her eyes sparkling with pure delight with each bite. Just as she was fully engrossed in her food, she heard a beep and instinctively turned to search for her phone, only to find it buried under a mountain of paperwork.

With a quick motion, she grabbed her phone with her left hand, her right hand still clutching her spoon. As she glanced down at the text message that had just arrived, her eyes widened with a combination of anger and shock, causing her grip on the spoon to loosen and her half-eaten food to slowly drop from it.
