After All This Time

Chapter 15

She picked the thing up examining it. "Where the fuck did this come from?" She gave a good hard look at it. Something about it seemed so familiar but why...? After a few minutes of just mad dogging the thing she set it down on her desk then went to the bathroom to find some Band-Aids.

She checked the cabinets and found first aid kit. 'perfect' she pulled it out and opened it. Then she thought if she should wrap it, but did she need it wrapped? She took her shirt off to see how bad the cut was. She looked back in the mirror and seen a decent sized gash across her lower back. "Lord that's worse than I thought" she measured the gash, and a Band-Aid would be too small, so she just decided to wrap it. But before she could do anything she had to clean it. She looked over to a bottle of alcohol. "Fuck this is going to hurt like a bitch."

After 20 minutes she finally got the wound cleaned and dressed. "Now to find out what that thing is." She walked back to her room and grabbed her laptop from one of her many bags and brought it to her bed. She grabbed the thing from her desk and brought it to her bed then looked at it once more. It was almost square, had very sharp edges and what she thought to be an orange flower of some sort engraved in the middle. "Well, it's not a knife" she thought hard. Then she had something, "maybe it's a throwing star? But it has four points not five." she decided to give it a try on google.

Maddie had spent the last twenty-five minutes looking at different throwing stars. It was stupid but she was determined to find out what this was. After five dead ends, she finally found something that looked almost exactly like what she had. "a four-point shuriken. Hey wait aren't shuriken's like a ninja thing or whatever?" She looked at the shuriken again, it was beautiful but where did it come from? 'Is my dad some sort of like secret ninja or something, I mean it would make sense why he works at an odd time.' she laughed to herself. She admired the shuriken one more time before putting it back on her desk "Well, wherever it came from it's mine now." She got out of her bed and made her way back to the living room.

She was greeted with Anax waiting by the front door. "Oh, hey buddy" Anax looked at her and then the door. "Dad will be back don't worry" he then stood up and scratched at the door "What do you need to use the bathroom or something?" He then started whining. "Okay okay I get it let me find your leash or something." She looked around the house for anything that seemed like a leash. "Where the fuck does he keep your leash?!" She began to get impatient, then she had an idea.

She made her way out of the lobby with Anax walking right next to her leg. "Thank god Blake gave me Whiskeys bridal." Maddie had taken her rains from the bridal and clipped it to Anax's collar. "Alright bud I can't remember my way around this city but let's try and find the park yea?" Maddie set off with Anax to find the park.

After about an hour they finally made it to the park. "Oh, thank god" Maddie walked Anax in the grass so he could smell everything. They walked around for twenty minutes before Maddie decided to head back. "Come on bud its getting late." as they made their way home, they passed an alleyway near her apartment. She heard a loud crash from the alley. She looked down the alley, 'no way in hell am I going down there...' she was about to walk off but before she could someone rushed out of the alley...
