I sat on the barstool tapping my mug as it sat in my hand asking to be refilled. My vision was blurry due to my eyes being unfocused, staring at nothing in particular. Pondering on what had happened earlier along with old memories that decided to resurface in response.
"Could you cut that shit out? It's annoying."
I turn to the low, aggressive voice who interrupted my thought process as my index finger stops in its track. The first thing that catches my attention is an obvious theme of red: his hair, his clothes, even his lips. Based off his rude comment and the way he dressed along with the permanent frown on his face, he was an overconfident, arrogant asshole who I'm sure I didn't want to deal with.
His eyes caught mine and I let my eyes linger a little longer before I turned back to what I was doing, my index finger continuing what it was doing. I could feel the animosity grow from him as the sound of my finger hitting the mug felt like it was louder than before. Before I knew it, he smacked the cup out of my hand with a scowl and murmured under his breath foul words.
"What is your problem?" I questioned, now annoyed as well as I turned my whole body towards him.
"My problem?" The man scoffed in disbelief as he turned towards me as well, "You mean your problem. I thought I told you to stop with the fucking tapping."
My eyes narrowed and a disgusted look took over my face, "And why exactly do I have to listen to you? I don't know you and you sure as hell didn't ask me politely to stop, so why the fuck would I?"
His lips lifted up into a smile except it wasn't one out of joy, he was beyond irritated. He lifted himself up from his seat and walked up to me, hovering over me as he looked down with a passive-aggressive tone in his voice before it turned to a threatening one, "You're in the pirate world now. If someone stronger than you tells you to do something you do it. Especially when no one is here to protect you, Princess."
I stared back at him for a little, his threatening words hanging in the air for a little before I followed his actions. I stood up and despite the still obvious height difference, I kept looking up at him with eyes that almost dared him to do something, "I don't see anyone stronger than me here." I titled my head, looking him up and down with a degrading, yet small smirk, "Oh...I do hope you weren't talking about yourself."
Upon closer look, he probably could've beat my ass if we did get in a fight. Either that or he would've gave me a run for my money. He obviously worked out—I mean—Zoro was built, but this guy had twice the muscles. His shoulders were broad and he held a strong, upright posture. With the smirk on his lips and the predatorial glint in his eyes, I could tell he was someone who'd have his opponent begging for mercy.
But that didn't scare me.
From the corner of my eye I could see his hand twitch in sync with his lip, his smirk threatening to fall, "Careful with your words, doll face. You might end up getting yourself hurt." He leaned down closer to me till he was just inches away, probably to look more intimidating though it didn't really do much.
At this point the tension has gotten heavy enough to where people in the bar had stopped to stare. I could hear some whispers here and there, but all I could make out was something about a 'Supernova'. The bartender looked over and went to probably ask us to take it outside, but he stopped for some reason.
Before I could say anything back the man is pulled away from another guy with a white mask that had blue stripes and holes running down the middle and on the bottom. It covered his whole face leaving the only distinct feature his long and shaggy blonde hair and the interesting style of clothing. He had a kind enough vibe to make my anger dissipate.
