I stretched my legs out after standing up from the stone bed platform I was lying on. The pain in my right leg disappeared completely and seemed to return to normal. I looked down at it with a curious look wondering what happened to it.
"Has it always been like that?"
I looked up at Ivancov who had introduced himself just a few seconds ago before looking back at my leg, "Not really. This has only been recent." Only now realizing this, I thought back to Thriller Bark and Sabaody where my leg kept locking up and was in stinging pain.
Ivancov hummed in response with a frown as he scanned my figure. He sighed, crossing his arms and speaking with sympathy, "You should talk to your father about that."
"My father?" The first words Ivancov spoke to me when I came to popped into my mind as I spoke again, voice laced with curiosity and confusion, "You spoke earlier as if you knew my parents, but I think I would remember someone as unique as you talking with them."
The man laughed lightly, "You flatter me, Darling!" His happy demeanor seemed to falter as he explained how he knew my parents, "I must say, though, I had the displeasure of meeting them during rough times." Flaring out claw-like nails, Ivancov explained that his devil fruit allowed him to have a healing ability called 'Healing Hormone'. He retracted his nails with a sigh, placing a hand on his hip, and shifting his weight from both feet to one, "Your father came to me after hearing this from someone. He asked me to help with your mother's condition, but I'm afraid to say there was nothing I could do."
I took in his sympathetic look with an understanding nod, "I see. Well, on behalf of my mother," I bowed slightly to him, my heart on my chest, "I thank you for trying."
Ivancov seemed to let his gaze linger as a small smile rested on his lips and after a moment he diffused the serious tension in the room with the joyous clicking of his heels exiting the room I was in, "Well, It's a shame to say, but you're late to the party. Bon boy has already begun his journey to helping Straw boy get better."
I tilted my head curiously before following him. Soon enough I could hear a voice echoing throughout the cave. I could tell it was Bon's, but I couldn't make out what he was saying.
"You've met quite the people, Darling," Ivancov spoke out, a smile evident in his voice as he walked in front of me, "It's rare to find friends like them."
"Hang in there!" Bon's voice was much more clear now as we got closer and closer to where everyone was.
My eyebrows furrowed in slight confusion before Ivancov explained Luffy's situation to me. He told me that Bon had been standing outside the door screaming at the top of his lungs for more than 10 hours just so that it could help give Luffy some motivation. As the people surrounding Bon started to come into view I could hear a few voices start to join Bon in his chanting. And as those few people joined in so did more people until eventually the whole lot of them were cheering for Luffy to keep fighting.
And might I say: there were a lot of them. People of all kinds as well. Not different like how the kingdom of Sinthaya was, but different in their own unique ways. Some wore multiple feathers on their bodies, some gladly exposed their skin by wearing very revealing clothes, some had mountains upon hair and some had none at all. As I looked around at all these people who were ex-prisioners passionately chanting for Luffy, I couldn't help, but smile.
I could hear Ivancov start to chant as well and when I looked up at him he smiled down at me before cheering for Luffy once again. He was everything Bon said he was. The same smile rests on my lips as I turn to the giant chained-up door in front of us. The loud voices of cheering surrounded me, echoing throughout the cave.
