RODRIGUEZ

Sam pulled into the parking garage. I looked in the side-view mirror. A car stopped right outside the concrete railing of the parking garage as if the driver was watching us. Sam reached for the door handle, but I clicked one of the buttons on my side of the door to lock it so she couldn't get out. She looked at me.

               "Something wrong?" she asked.

"That car," I pointed. "looks like it's waiting for us to get out."

"Rodriguez, not this again," she complained. I ignored her complaints and devised a tedious, time-wasting idea that should work.

"Let's wait for a minute," I said, took a book, and started reading.

               "Why? That's boring–"

"That's the point. They'll get bored and drive away," I paused, "If they don't, then I must do something I don't want to do."
